A Brief Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for corporate reporting for the business, covering a wide range of valuation bases, financial metrics and business projections as required by the company, and also other areas of actuarial practice like assumptions. The role will provide the candidate with broad exposure to various management reporting and actuarial valuation knowledge. This role also includes managing other areas of practice like process / control enhancement, financial projections for capital management, asset-liability management and risk management purposes. Communication with pricing, finance and risk teams are components of the role.
What you will do
Support the reporting requirements for US GAAP (e.g. LDTI) and US STAT (e.g. Principles Based Reserving), local statutory, and the analysis for management reporting;
Support the quarterly LDTI valuation reporting process;
Support the monthly reporting for hard and soft closing;
Assist in valuation process improvement to achieve higher level of operational efficiency;
Support assumption reviews and basis changes and communicate appropriate impact results and financial analytics;
Compliance controls and audit checks on the valuation data and bases;
Work closely with Finance, Administration and Pricing Teams to achieve goals;
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in actuarial science or in mathematics required
5+ Years of actuarial experience in life insurance/reinsurance, preferably on valuation or financial reporting with the knowledge of GAAP and statutory reporting (or IFRS17) required
1+ Years of people management experience required
Knowledge of actuarial software (e.g., AXIS, Prophet) and a good understanding of Excel and VBA. required
Good analytical and data management skills as well as work attitudes to details and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. required
Highly motivated, conceptual thinker who is able to collaborate in a team environment or work independently and own a wide variety of assignments. required
Good problem-solving ability to translate business needs into acceptable solutions. preferred
Good oral and written communication skills. required
FSA - Fellow of the Society of Actuaries Fully qualified Fellow with one of the recognized international actuarial associations (FSA, FIA, FIAA, etc.) Required
