Colleague & Labour Relations (CLR) Manager, Malaysia The Colleague & Labour Relations Manager for Malaysia is an exciting and challenging role that will allow the successful candidate to utilise their CLR expertise to drive a strategic agenda for the organisation. This includes developing and implementing CLR strategies, driving a fair and consistent colleague experience, supporting the business in powering up their growth and minimising legal exposure. As well as finding opportunities to leverage existing practices and processes to ensure a fair and consistent approach. The CLR Manager has leadership responsibility and will partner closely with the broader Colleague Experience Group (HR team). The ideal candidate is an experienced CLR Manager, or Employment Law professional with a proven track record in their field, with superior Malaysia CLR knowledge and expertise. This role will report into the Vice President of Colleague & Labour Relations, APAC. Key responsibilities will include: Designing and executing a CLR strategy for Malaysia, ensuring alignment with global CLR goals and business goals. Proactively identify and guide people leaders on employee performance matters through to resolution e.g. performance improvement plans, disciplinary hearings and/or termination. Handling complaints, investigations and grievances. Providing consultative services on all employee relations related matters. Implementing strategies to prevent harassment, discrimination, retaliation and other forms of inappropriate workplace conduct. Ownership and development of colleague policies. Strengthening the employee relations capabilities of business leaders through coaching and delivery of training. Leveraging data and insights to spot trends and issues. As well as and identifying opportunities for proactive interventions. Defining and executing remediation plans through training, policy and process enhancement, working closely with the business and the OneCEG community and through overall thought leadership. Creating a safe environment for employees to raise complaints and help drive a culture of coming forward without taking an advocacy position. Actively participating in the APAC and Global Colleague and Labour Relations Community. Demonstrating proactive thought leadership in the interpretation of current and pending employment legislation and its possible impact to the AXP business. Ensuring strong partnerships with Country Executive Team, Business Leaders, Colleague Strategic Partners and other relevant internal/external parties. Working in partnership with relevant stakeholders to effectively implement strategic initiatives/projects, where there is an employee relations impact. Where relevant, managing and coordinating the due diligence activities and impact of complex business changes and divestitures by ensuring full compliance with local laws and regulations. Providing leadership and coaching to the Malaysia CLR Specialist and support the Specialist\'s on-going development. Preferred Qualifications: A track record of success within a highly matrixed multi-national environment. Experience of employee relations/Employment Law or an HR Generalist with exposure and experience of to employee relations issues. focus. Excellent knowledge of Malaysia employment law. Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment with strong negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Excellent influencing skills with the ability to effectively partner with all levels of leadership. Self-starter and able to multitask. Ability to motivate, coach and develop a team member. Ability to focus both on explicit detail and the broader implications of issues. Ability to proactively identify linkages/partnership and opportunities to enhance the overall colleague experience. Commercial acumen. Degree qualified.
