Key Responsibilities:

• Identify structures and processes that best assist the achievement of objectives and facilitate strong governance and risk management.
• Adopting a principles-based approach and adapting the model to suit organizational objectives and circumstances.
• Focusing on the contribution risk management makes to achieving objectives and creating value, as well as to matters of "defence" and protecting value
• Clearly understanding the roles and responsibilities represented in the model and the relationships among them.
• Implementing measures to ensure activities and objectives are aligned with the prioritized interests of stakeholders
• Delegates responsibility and provides resources to management to achieve the objectives of the organization while ensuring legal, regulatory, and ethical expectations are met.
• Establishes and oversees an independent, objective, and competent internal audit function to provide clarity and confidence on progress toward the achievement of objectives.
• Leads and directs actions (including managing risk) and application of resources to achieve the objectives of the organization
• Maintains a continuous dialogue with the governing body, and reports on: planned, actual, and expected outcomes linked to the objectives of the organization; and risk.
• Establishes and maintains appropriate structures and processes for the management of operations and risk (including internal control).
• Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical expectations
• Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department
• Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
• Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Conduct business in accordance with an agreed strategy and related risk appetite and limits.
• Promote a strong risk culture and sustainable risk-return decision making.
• Establish and operate a business unit risk and control structure able to ensure operation within agreed policies and risk limits
• Conduct rigorous self-testing against established policies, procedures, and limits
• Perform a thoughtful periodic risk self-assessment.
• Be able to execute effective internal control in their business units, as well as the monitoring process and maintaining transparency in the internal control itself.

The ideal Compliance Manager will be confident in leading from the front and be responsible for the growth of the company and must possess the below requirements;

Key Requirements:

• Degree educated with relevant professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance and risk management, preferably in cash operations.
• Good knowledge of internal controls practices, principles and procedures and corporate governance requirements.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Effective stakeholder management, mature, and possesses high degree of temperance (compose, calm)
• Able to work independently as an individual contributor
• Comfortable being hands-on, fluid and flexible
