Job Description


Job Purpose To provide timely independent analysis and appraisal of financing proposals from respective Business Unit (BU) at pre-approved stage for deliberation by the relevant approving authorities. To provide supervision and guidance on selected Credit Analyst on the independent analysis and appraisal of financing proposals from respective Business Units at pre-approved stage for informed decision by the relevant approving authorities. To assist and support CAD\'s daily administrative matters and activities (as and when required). Key Responsibilities PRESERVE ASSET QUALITY To highlight risks involved and proper structuring of credit facilities to enhance credit controls as well as credit covenants to mitigate identified risks. This is to improve credit profile with a view to protect the Bank\'s interest and maximize risk return to the Bank. To identify strengths and weaknesses of financing proposals from credit risk perspective to ensure good quality assets for the Bank. To assist in proactive financing decision making (with forward thinking & informed information) under risk aware credit culture to ensure good assets are booked and maintained with the Bank. RISK AND COMPLIANCE To highlight any deviation from internal Bank\'s Credit Policy and other relevant internal policies. To inculcate risk, governance, and Shariah awareness and culture within the Department and other stakeholders. To observe stipulated turn-around time in assessing financing proposals and conducting approval (where applicable). INTERNAL / EXTERNAL COLLABORATION To liaise closely with / and guide BU in the course of assessment of financing proposals and guide them on effective credit writing skills. To engage with Risk Management and / or other related departments with regards to credit related matters and provide feedbacks / comments with objective to improve / enhance the credit policies and processes. To provide assistance / facilitate / lead / represent the department on credit related projects (internal / external); To represent the Department in the Credit Committee meetings (upon discretion of HOD as and when required). OCCUPATIONAL, HEALTH & SAFETY (OHS) To comply with the OHS act 1994 including:- a. \'to take reasonable care for the safety and health of himself and of other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions at work\'; b. \'to co-operate with his employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty or requirement imposed on the employer or that other person by this Act or any regulation made thereunder\'; c. \'to wear or use at all times any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer for the purpose of preventing risks to his safety and health\'; and d. \'to comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health instituted by his employer or any other person by or under this Act or any. OTHERS Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time or as and when required. Job Requirements Preferably Degree in Accounting / Business Studies or Banking / Finance/Economics or equivalent field. Minimum 7 years of working experience in credit processing / analysis for corporate and commercial banking customers. Good communication and writing skills in credit. Good communication skills with good proactive personality. Able to analyze range of financial data, including balance sheets, income / cash flow statements, budgets, and projections. Strong knowledge in the current economic, political, industry and business scenario, credit risk policy and financing guidelines, banking products and services, regulatory requirement i.e. IFSA 2013, BNM Notices and etc. Analytical thinking and able to work independently in assessing financing proposals. Business Credit Professional (BCP) / Certified Credit Professional (CCP) qualification or its equivalent preferred. Computer literacy in Microsoft office (Words, Excel, etc.) financial spreadsheet and credit scoring. Preferably with Business Credit Professional (BCP) / Certified Credit Professional (CCP).
