Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Functional (job responsibilities)
Manage the end-to-end preparation and submission of annual tax returns, computations, and supporting schedules for the company (including Labuan entities). This includes overseeing withholding tax reporting and ensuring all filings meet statutory deadlines to ensure full regulatory compliance.
Oversee the financial side of tax management by preparing provisional tax estimates, year-end tax provisions, and monthly capital allowance schedules. This involves analyzing the General Ledger (income/expenses) and ensuring all tax installment payments are made on time to mitigate penalty risks.
Ensure annual transfer pricing documentation is fully compliant by coordinating with external advisors. Additionally, liaise with overseas branches to gather and consolidate necessary cross-border tax information and documents.
Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities, handling all enquiries and compiling necessary documentation for tax audits. Maintain comprehensive and organized tax files and records to ensure the company is always audit-ready.
Serve as the key liaison with external auditors and appointed tax agents. Manage these relationships to address tax-related queries, verify source documents, and facilitate smooth external reviews of the company's tax positions.
Jobholder Requirement
Malaysian citizen
Education/Qualification
Possess a University degree or professional qualification in Accounting or Finance.
Experience
3 to 5 years of working experience in accounting/ audit/ tax preferably with big accounting firms/ banks.
