The team constructively challenges the business with critical thinking and innovative insight to improve the way we do business.We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our HSBC Amanah team in the role of Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Operations, Planning and Sustainability Advisory, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.The Operations, Planning and Sustainability Advisory team manages projects at HSBC Amanah (HBMS). The primary focus area of this team is supporting the HSBC Amanah CEO for overall strategies, strategic initiatives, process management and co-ordination overall to enhance and support the HSBC Amanah business together with internal and external stakeholders.The team also has responsibility for the efficient working of the Shared Services model between HSBC Malaysia and HSBC Amanah, as governed by the Optimal Resource Sharing Arrangement (ORSA) guidance from BNM.The purpose of the role is to support the management team across all responsibilities and to assist with key strategic initiatives including project management of specific workstreams and the overall programme of tasks and initiatives assigned. This includes a key agenda of helping to co-ordinate and realise HSBC Amanah\xe2\x80\x99s role as an active participant in internal and external activities.HSBC Amanah plays a key co-ordinating role for the industry and in its own financing and business activities by virtue of its membership of the VBI Community of Practitioners and its chairmanship of Steering Committee 4 (SC4) for Engagement and Capacity Building for financial services industry as part of the Joint Committee on Climate Change co-chaired by Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission Malaysia.As a VBI practitioner, HSBC Amanah (M) Berhad aims to deliver the intended outcomes of Shariah through practices, conduct and offerings across HSBC Amanah via capacity building, training, provision and intermediating of Value Based Finance both in its own business and industry wide.This is an exciting role with the opportunity for exposure from a multi-faceted perspective, encompassing many aspects in co-ordination across many key business stakeholdersThe role holder will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

  • Management of overall Operations and Planning related strategic initiatives, providing programme management and operational support to Head, Operations, Planning and Sustainability Advisory as well as the and CEO of HSBC Amanah
  • Support in assisting to define the approach for initiatives and the development of HSBC Amanah\xe2\x80\x99s strategic initiatives, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and changes
  • Overall co-ordination and management of projects and initiatives, proactively engaging in ensuring delivery against goals and timelines and in consideration of overall scope, schedule, communications, budget and risks
  • Overall management and reporting in relation to the shared services model between HSBC Amanah and HSBC Malaysia, ensuring maximisation of process efficiencies and outcomes in line with regular reporting and standards and related KPIs
  • Help with identification of resource needs, budgeting, responsibilities and schedules and ensuring controls and procedures are in place for key initiatives
  • Reporting progress, issues, dependencies and risks to leadership and committees (as appropriate) and making recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards realising delivery and benefits
  • Providing guidance and maintaining a focus on how assigned initiatives align to wider programme and overall HSBC Amanah business objectives
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Line of Businesses in the area of sustainability to promote uptake of sustainable finance for HBMS
  • Prepare materials and conduct VBI and sustainability related training to promote awareness on those subject matter among Line of Businesses
  • Lead VBI and sustainability related reporting matters for HBMS such as TCFD and industry reports
  • Adhering to HSBC project methodology at all times
  • Supporting the management to ensure delivery of all committed deliverables through building strong networks and partnering with business and enablers
  • Production of timely management information related to work assigned
  • Liaising with and supporting the lead on any initiatives and programmes including the coordinating meetings and assisting with relevant events
  • Supporting the coordination of regulatory and industry engagements for HSBC Amanah
  • Supporting creation of content to promote awareness locally, in Group and externally for HSBC Amanah
  • Providing support in relation to requests for information from HSBC stakeholders and regulatory bodies in Malaysia
  • Working with internal stakeholders to improve quality and consistency of information, including financial related management information
  • Producing ad-hoc analysis to inform Senior Management and aid decision making
  • Ensure all work undertaken is in accordance with and in compliance with HSBC policies, procedures
  • Working with internal stakeholders to support HBMS strategic objectives
  • Assist with the implementation of the organisation\'s VBI policies and practices
  • Preparation of presentation material
  • Deputising for line manager during periods of absence, including at meetings etc
Requirements
  • 5-7 Years career experience ideally gained within Banking / Financial services
  • Bachelor Degree holder
  • Keen interest in Islamic Financial services and also Sustainable Finance and Sustainability
  • Strong Project Management experience gained ideally through Change / Business Transformation
  • Capability with dealing with multiple tasks / projects and proven track record on timely deliverables of assigned tasks
  • Experience of participation in a routine phase/ project/ process identification and escalation of issues
  • Attentiveness to quality and productivity
  • Capability in data analysis and its interpretation to produce insightful recommendations
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Resourceful and embraces change positively
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • A good team player who is a self-intiator, hardworking and change oriented with a flexible working style
  • Keen interest in and informed about the operating environment including regulatory, political, competitor and market factors
  • Experience gained at a large financial services institution
  • Knowledge of robust and current project management practices
  • Active industry knowledge of the current state of technology trends
  • Project/Programme Management skills (project planning and tracking / project status reporting)
  • Business process analysis skills - ability to analyse and document the current processes and utilize data to make informed recommendations
  • Strong collaboration skills - to influence and execute at pace
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services (Banking, Wealth Management, and Capital Markets) business processes and resultant information needs: client, risk / regulatory / finance, amongst others
  • Proven record of making sound judgments, including the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities; building teams and consensus; getting things done through others not directly under his/her supervision; and working ethically and with integrity
  • Proven record of effective management, including planning and decision-making, identifying priorities and bringing projects to successful completion in a timely manner; and maintaining a focus on high standards and quality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to work across organisations at all levels
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Excellent written communications skills - ability to clearly document the current state and recommendations
