Job Overview:


The Manager, Project Planning & Development (Architectural) is responsible for leading and managing the planning, design, and development stages of residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects. This role ensures that all project objectives--covering design quality, regulatory compliance, sustainability, cost control, and timelines--are successfully achieved. The candidate will work closely with internal teams, consultants, authorities, and external stakeholders while providing strategic direction and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities



1. Project Planning & Coordination



Lead project planning activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals, budgets, and timelines. Develop detailed project schedules, milestones, and resource plans. Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to support smooth project execution.

2. Design Development & Review



Oversee conceptual, schematic, and detailed design development. Review, evaluate, and approve architectural proposals to ensure compliance with regulatory and project requirements. Work with design teams and consultants to optimize functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability in project designs.

3. Feasibility Studies & Analysis



Conduct feasibility studies on site potential, zoning regulations, and project viability. Prepare reports outlining design options, cost implications, and project risks. Recommend strategies to mitigate risks and enhance overall project outcomes.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Approvals



Ensure all design work complies with local building codes, guidelines, and industry standards. Lead the submission process and liaise with relevant government authorities to secure required approvals and permits.

5. Budget & Cost Management



Collaborate with cost consultants to monitor project budgets and financial performance. Propose value engineering solutions to improve cost efficiency without compromising design intent or quality.

6. Team Leadership & Management



Lead, guide, and mentor teams involved in project planning and development. Enhance team performance by providing training, support, and resources where needed.

7. Sustainability & Innovation



Incorporate sustainable design principles and innovative technologies into project plans. Advocate for environmentally responsible solutions aligned with project objectives.

8. Stakeholder Engagement



Serve as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal departments. Provide consistent updates, manage expectations, and address stakeholder concerns promptly.

9. Quality Assurance & Risk Management



Implement quality control processes to ensure deliverables meet project and stakeholder standards. Identify risks early and develop strategies for timely resolution.

10. Post-Project Evaluation



Conduct project close-out reviews to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Document lessons learned and share recommendations for future projects.

Job Requirements



Education & Experience:



Master's degree in Architecture. At least 8-10 years of experience in architecture, project planning, or related fields, including a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.

Technical Skills:



Proficiency in design and project tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and project management platforms. Strong understanding of building codes, construction methodologies, and sustainability practices.

Leadership & Communication:



Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills for effective team and stakeholder management. Ability to resolve conflicts and build consensus among diverse parties.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:



Excellent analytical skills for assessing feasibility and optimizing design solutions. Proactive approach to addressing complex issues in design and project planning.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
