Job Description

We are looking for a Manager Scientific Engagement who will be playing a pivotal role in the Company\xe2\x80\x99s transformation towards Smoke-free future.

You will be leading outreach to build, enhance and manage PMM\xe2\x80\x99s reputation to key leaders in the scientific, academic, public and private sectors to broaden awareness of our transformation and increase the advocacy from scientific and medical community for harm-reduction approaches.

You will be a strategic influencer, trusted advisor, innovator and collaborative partner to the following:

• Design & implement multi-year outreach strategy to support both corporate and departmental goals; establish & measure against stretch targets; takes a broader view to identify emerging risks and opportunities to the Company\xe2\x80\x99s transformation to a smoke-free future;
• Build and lead scientific network and engagement to generate leads, nurture & sustain, and convert support into advocacy; function as primary contact for scientific engagement and enrolling stakeholders as required; works alongside with External Affairs and other relevant functions;
• Be a trusted advisor to scientific community, being open, honest & transparent to for community to consider harm-reduction strategies & support regulatory changes;
• Identify, assess & develop new approaches to reach new contacts for scientific engagement; wiling to think outside the box of conventional perspectives; build or enhance tools to track and nurture network over time;
• Collaborate with local and regional functions and global Scientific Engagement community within PMI to work towards a common goal - increasing public awareness and acceptance of the role of technology to enable a smoke-free future through regulatory reform; share developments regularly with stakeholders for insight as appropriate, consistent with local laws & regulations.

• At least 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in stakeholder relations, outreach, external affairs and or scientific engagement. Corporate experience preferred.
• Experience in public health, life science or pharmaceutical industry is highly desired.
• Strong network of contacts in the science, academic and health-care sectors, or validated ability to develop a network quickly in a new industry.
• Strong people & influencing skills. Personable, engaging, influential presence to enroll others in a constructive conversation when they may initially be unconvinced, indifferent or unreceptive.
• Excellent language skills, natural storyteller & listener. Strong presentation skills, including public speaking, conference presentation, media interviews.
• Be able to work cross-functionally and build relationships inside and outside of the organization.
• Growth mindset and proven track record of continuous learning.
• Be an entrepreneurial self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is eager to try those out.
• Holds a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in science, chemistry or equivalent.
