Our opportunity for you:

Job Title : Manager, Training & Quality - KYC, AML & Compliance

Job Type : Permanent

Location : Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Purpose of the role:

The position will be supporting the KYC/AML/Screening teams within Global Service Centre (GSC) Malaysia, who is supporting various regulated markets where the regulatory environments are constantly evolving and challenging. The tightening of these requirements leads to heightened expectations about the quality of files, risk assessment, screening, documentation and Client Due Diligence (CDD) of our clients. It is therefore very imperative to keep the teams up to date with their knowledge and skills to maintain a higher standard. As the KYC/AML Training and Quality Manager, the position will be responsible to conduct training, monitor quality and ensure that process documentations are according to the local policies and any other compliance and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities:
  • Partner with KYC/AML Team Managers and Subject Matter Experts to understand their training requirements
  • Develop a well-designed training program and teaching materials that cover the various topics on KYC/AML and processes to meet operational needs
  • Becomes the Subject Matter Expert and go-to person for training on KYC, corporate due diligence and AML risks related topics
  • Deliver training for new hires and conduct periodic training for all team members
  • Cross-train resources between various KYC/AML topics across different markets
  • Drive the regulatory KYC quality commitment for GSC Malaysia and the markets we are supporting and conduct quality audit checks
  • Deliver ad-hoc training in response to skills gaps identified during audits
  • Monitor and evaluate the business impact of all training initiatives
  • Work with Head of Department and Team Managers in developing process documentations and ensure that they are up to date, accurate and consistent with the local and group policies
  • Maintain records on training and quality
  • Support automation, system improvements and operational efficiencies
Attributes & Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound analytical and research skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, good organisation skills and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to excel under pressure for meeting any tight deadlines
Relevant experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in training and managing training programs, training methods and evaluation
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Know Your Client (KYC), Customer Due Diligence or Name Screening in a financial institution or equivalent function is an added advantage
  • AML experience and good understanding of compliance and MAS regulatory requirements in Singapore is an added advantage
Education/Professional Qualifications:
  • University graduate with Bachelor of Law / Accounting / Business / Economics / Finance and related academic qualifications
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
