Role Description
This is a full-time role based in Bangi, Selangor or Bayan Lepas, Penang. The incumbent will be responsible for driving business growth, expanding market presence, and delivering profitable revenue results. The role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans, cultivating key customer relationships, and identifying new market opportunities.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Revenue Growth Planning & Budget Realisation
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives
Create long-term market expansion plans
Identify and penetrate new market segments and industries
Deliver sales to budget
2. Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and decision-makers
Develop a robust customer retention strategy
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty
Manage sales cycles and negotiate high-value contracts
3. Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis
Conduct ongoing research on market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape
Analyse market dynamics and identify emerging opportunities
Develop competitive positioning strategies
Monitor industry innovations and technological advancements
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with NPI, Engineering, Production, and Finance teams
Align sales strategies with production capabilities
Facilitate communication across departments to ensure smooth implementation of sales initiatives
5. Business Development and New Market Penetration
Identify and pursue new business opportunities
Develop strategies for entering new markets or industries
Establish partnerships and strategic alliances
6. Pricing and Margin Management
Balance competitive pricing with profitability
Analyse cost structures and pricing models
Optimise product mix and margins
Implement value-based pricing approaches
7. Risk Management and Compliance
Ensure sales practices comply with legal and ethical standards
Develop risk mitigation strategies
Manage potential conflicts and negotiation challenges
Create robust reporting and transparency mechanisms
Protect the company's reputation and brand integrity
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Marketing, or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in sales/business development within manufacturing, preferably plastics, injection moulding, or ODM/OEM environments
Proven track record in B2B sales targeting medical device companies, pharmaceutical firms, or healthcare brand owners.
Possess in-depth knowledge of the medical device industry, including regulatory standards (eg FDA, ISO 13485, GMP).
Familiar with plastic component manufacturing processes (eg injection moulding, extrusion, cleanroom production) and ODM models, including design collaboration and product customisation for clients.
Performance-driven with strong independent problem-solving abilities.
Rapid learner with adaptable and resourceful mindset.
