Oversee the preparation of detailed technical drawings, 3D product renderings, and production documentation
, including furniture specifications, construction details, material selections, and finishing guides.
Manage the full product development cycle
from concept to prototype to final production, including budgeting, material sourcing, supplier negotiation, cost optimization, and quality assurance.
Act as the main liaison with clients
, presenting furniture design concepts, gathering feedback, and ensuring all requirements are clearly communicated and implemented.
Conduct site and factory visits
, supervising production progress, ensuring workmanship quality, and resolving any design or technical issues during fabrication.
Guide and mentor junior furniture designers
, delegating tasks, reviewing design output, and ensuring all deliverables meet brand and quality standards.
Stay current with global furniture design trends, materials, ergonomics, and manufacturing technologies
, integrating them into product development where relevant.
Prepare high-impact presentation boards using Photoshop and other visualization tools
to effectively communicate design intent, form, proportion, and aesthetics to clients and suppliers.
Source and select furniture components, hardware, materials, and finishes (FF&E)
, ensuring compliance with project budgets, production timelines, and safety/quality standards.
Requirements (Furniture Design Focus):
Diploma or Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial/Product Design, Interior Design, or related field.
Minimum
4-6 years of furniture design experience
, with at least 1-2 years in a senior or lead role.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD, 3D Max/Vray, and Adobe Photoshop
; familiarity with product modeling or rendering tools is an advantage.
Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing furniture design projects and guiding junior designers.
Strong communication and presentation skills (English & Mandarin required), with the ability to independently handle client discussions.
Excellent understanding of
furniture ergonomics, construction methods, materials, joinery, and production documentation
