MARINE SURVEY SENIOR GEOPHYSICIST (OFFICE-BASED) Experience Min. 8 years Location Office Based, Data Centre, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia Start Date As soon as possible Contract Full Time/ Permanent The Geophysicist is one of the members of client deliverables team and is responsible for all aspects relating to the management of geoscience reporting projects, the supervision of project teams, and the interpretation and reporting of geophysical survey data in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions. Responsibilities Ensure that all activities are carried out with the highest regard to the health and safety of all involved and to the protection of the environment and prevention of pollution Ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with the company integrated Management System and project specific documentation To carry out a systematic interpretation of geophysical records, produce the necessary text/ figures/ tables for the written report, oversee the compilation of charts, and check their final correctness and completeness. To be performed in co-ordination with the Reporting Lead and Geophysical Technical Advisor Project manages multiple report projects and supervises team of reporting geophysicists Maintains project documentation and information systems Leads project liaison with client and Fugro colleagues and subcontractors as required Supervises, leads, trains and coaches junior staff during interpretation and reporting Prepares presentations to clients and others Assists with preparation of work proposals Keeps up-to-date with changing technologies Regularly reviews work processes to ensure best practice has been adopted, and assists with updating of documentation Adheres to QA and HSE Management systems Ensures data security and integrity after acquisition and during reporting, and ensures appropriate archiving /despatch Maintains a clean, tidy and safe working environment. Requirements A minimum of 8 years of experience in oil and gas offshore survey industry Wide experience and proficient in the interpretation, integration and reporting of all types of geophysical and geotechnical data collected by the company including multi-beam echosounder, side scan sonar, seismic profiler, magnetometer, and multichannel seismic in the field and in the office Experienced user of common interpretation and data processing software packages in the industry such as IHS Kingdom, SonarWiz, CODA, RadexPRO, Oasis Montaj, etc. Very strong communication skills with an excellent command of written and spoken English The ability to lead a team of personnel needed to complete reporting projects to the required standard, contractual requirements and deliver on time as well as to provide training if required Proactive, flexible, enthusiastic and ready to be groomed to fast track his/ her career as our future Reporting Lead or Geophysical Technical Advisor Preferably a member of registered Professional Geologist of Board of Geologists Malaysia Candidates must have the right to live and work in Malaysia.
