Job Summary

To sell insurance products to customers and small businesses on the phone and over email, identifying customer needs and taking action accordingly to contribute to the development of business and enhancement of the organization\'s products, services, and processes.


Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

  • Sells the organization\'s propositions to new and existing clients.
  • Acts as the customer\xc2\xb4s point of entry into the Zurich organization; takes responsibility for the customer experience with Zurich, resolving and / or escalating their issues and keeping oversight of service delivery to the customer to ensure service expectations are fulfilled at all stages of the process (e.g. claims, invoicing).
  • Shows good understanding of the customer needs and applies advanced customer interaction skills.
  • Identifies customer needs and advises on propositions; suggests additional offerings to existing clients (cross-selling).
  • Makes sure that quotations are issued (eventually with the help of a customer service team) promptly and in an accurate manner; maintains data integrity within relevant systems.
  • Shows expected sales behavior while fully adhering to local organization standards and processes.
  • Supports specific marketing campaigns; provides input and actively contributes to the enhancement of the organization\'s products, services and processes.
  • Works closely with other organizational units, provides training and participates in projects as appropriate.




Business Accountabilities

  • Utilize established financial systems to track budgets and highlight variances in order to manage and control specific cost variables.
  • Manage the implementation of a project, either as a small discrete initiative or a defined part of a business change program to deliver defined objectives.
  • Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the company\xc2\xb4s risk and compliance policies relevant to own area of work, highlight discrepancies and escalate or resolve as appropriate.
  • Test and evaluate Sales and Distribution processes and systems and provide recommendations for improvement to facilitate the continuous development of efficient working practices.
  • Maintain oversight of service delivery to the customer, taking responsibility for escalated cases and providing coaching to other team members to ensure service expectations are fulfilled.
  • Investigate and assess unusual and/or complex customer/distributor queries or service requests and/or claims and employ established techniques to determine an appropriate course of action.
  • Build, develop and manage relationships with customers/distributors to promote the organization\xc2\xb4s propositions, and implement distributors\xe2\x80\x99 terms of business with the organization including negotiation, new offer and closures and terminations where required.
  • Identify opportunities and steer business to deliver sales against customer/profitability targets and quality measures.
  • Work closely with colleagues in other functions (e.g. Proposition Management and Development, Marketing, Operations) to ensure sales campaigns are executed effectively.
  • Monitor performance of assigned distributors against set expectations, identify performance gaps, define actions or make recommendations to the organization\xc2\xb4s leadership (e.g. termination of agreements).




Job Qualifications
Required:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Sales area

OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and No prior experience required in the area

Preferred:
  • Insurance Industry experience
  • Insurance Sales experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
