Position title: Material Engineer Working Location: Kuala Lumpur Tenure: Contract: Permanent Salary Offered: Open for negotiation. Job Responsibilities You may be working as an engineer, supporting Discipline Lead Engineer in projects. Main activities will include but not limited to issue project deliverables within project schedule in compliance with SBM standards, international codes, standards, and regulations. Communication is a key component for this position where you are expected to provide pro-active feedback on queries, preparing/delivering studies presentations to ensure effective communication with all internal and external stake holders, clients, and vendors to execute the project work efficiently always creating a harmonious work environment. Utilize discipline knowledge and design experience related to the planning, design, and engineering of Materials Selections, Corrosion, Coating and Cathodic Protection for SBM floating system projects. Demonstrate high degree of Corrosion and Material Selection Theoretical knowledge. Understanding on common Materials Selection, Corrosion and Corrosion Protection method for floating facilities shall consider as an advantage. Candidate is expected to execute key discipline activities i.e., Issuance of Materials Selection Reports (MSR), Materials Selection Diagram (MSD) and shall support in reviewing PID to ensure implementation of selected materials and proposed Corrosion Monitoring System. Materials & Corrosion Engineer may at discretion of SBM Offshore via Discipline Lead Engineer or Line Manager to participate in project initiatives as well as Company MCP group initiatives which will be considered as on Job Training (OJT) to accelerate engagement of candidate with SBM Offshore learning culture and way of working. Candidate may also be assigned to be Lead Engineer for Pre-FEED/FEED Stage project with support from Experienced engineer, locally in Kuala Lumpur or other EC. Utilize SBM Products knowledge and how each product relates to the various disciplines to minimize the negative impact on the completion of key project milestones. Capable of managing the given task independently and proactively seek support as needed. Actively share experience/knowledge with peers and participate in all applicable project design reviews. Participate in Client facing meetings to influence decision making and resolve complex technical issues based on recognized skills in Discipline. Take ownership to define and develop Discipline scope by understanding and evaluating the project requirements. To understand project requirements and appropriately assign task to team members. Promote a positive work environment to keep a high level of team Co-operating and engagement. Ensure previous lesson learned are incorporated into the project and capture new lesson learned for future project. Job Requirements Academic: Degree in Materials/Corrosion/Mechanical engineering from recognized university. Master\'s degree is an advantage. Minimum 5 years experiences in FPSO projects or Minimum 8 years in oil and gas industry, where knowledge in FPSO to be consider as an advantage. Experiences in executing Proposal, Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC (IC) projects. Well verse in common materials international standards (ISO, NACE, ASTM, DNV etc.) Understanding on Piping Design, Mechanical equipment, and Safety Loss Prevention Design Code. Experiences in working with Process Flow Diagram and Process Instrument Diagram (PID). Shall be familiar with marine classification societies rules and regulations (ABS, BV, etc.) Aware of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) Techniques and Welding/Fabrication processes. SW or tools: Familiar with Corrosion Calculation Tools is a must, but not pre-requisite for the role as internal familiarization will be given. Knowledge in Digital Corrosion Monitoring environment
