Job Description

1. Material Planning & Scheduling

Plan and monitor material requirements based on the production schedule, forecast, and customer orders. Prepare Material Requirement Planning (MRP) to ensure optimal inventory levels and avoid shortages or overstock. Coordinate closely with Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse to align material availability with production needs.

2. Procurement Coordination

Issue Purchase Requisitions (PR) and follow up with the Purchasing team on delivery timelines. Liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials according to production schedules. Support supplier performance evaluation related to material delivery and quality.

3. Inventory Management

Monitor raw material and component inventory levels using ERP or inventory systems. Conduct regular review of slow-moving or obsolete materials and recommend corrective actions. Maintain accurate inventory data and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.

4. Production Support

Ensure materials are available according to the Bill of Materials (BOM) and job order requirements. Manage urgent material requirements or shortages to minimize production downtime. Work with Quality and Warehouse teams to address nonconformance or rejected materials.

5. Continuous Improvement & Reporting

Analyze material usage trends and propose improvements for cost efficiency and lead time reduction. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on material status, shortage list, and inventory performance. Participate in Kaizen or improvement projects related to material flow and planning accuracy.
