Job Description

1. Job Purpose

To perform inspection, servicing, and repair of all mechanical equipment at the mining site--including heavy machinery, water pumps, light vehicles, and auxiliary systems--to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.

2. Key Responsibilities

Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance for all site machinery. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair breakdowns on: Heavy equipment (excavators, dump trucks, loaders, bulldozers, etc.) Dewatering and slurry pumps Light vehicles and site transport units Generators, compressors, and other mechanical systems Identify causes of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions promptly. Conduct scheduled lubrication, parts replacement, and calibration work. Record all maintenance and repair activities in logbooks or system reports. Support operations by ensuring machinery availability and reliability. Monitor fuel, oil, and coolant levels; perform necessary top-ups or changes. Assist in spare parts planning, storage, and inventory control. Ensure maintenance tasks follow the company's SOPs, environmental, and safety regulations. Provide mechanical support during site installations or relocation of machinery. Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and equipment hazards to the supervisor immediately.

3. Requirements

Education:

Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical / Automotive / Heavy Equipment Maintenance or equivalent technical qualification.

Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance at mining, quarrying, or construction sites. Hands-on experience with both heavy machinery and auxiliary equipment (pumps, compressors, light vehicles).

Skills & Competencies:

Strong mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Basic knowledge of electrical systems (an added advantage). Able to read service manuals and mechanical diagrams. Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work independently. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willing to work long hours, shifts, and in challenging site environments.

4. Working Conditions

Based at mine site; rotation or shift schedule may apply. Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and outdoor conditions. Must wear full PPE during working hours. Overtime and standby duties may be required during emergencies.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
