Position: Mechanical Design cum Process Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of plastic products, mechanical components, and production equipment. Develop jigs, fixtures, and mechanical parts with appropriate material selection, including polycarbonate, polypropylene, aluminium, and other engineering materials. Collaborate closely with design engineers and cross-functional teams to generate effective and innovative engineering solutions. Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical design issues arising during prototyping or mass production. Interface with suppliers to ensure that all design specifications, material requirements, and quality standards are fully met. Design, fabricate, and test prototypes; evaluate performance results and implement improvements to enhance manufacturability and efficiency. Support process optimisation initiatives, including machine troubleshooting, cycle-time improvement, and production line enhancement activities. Plan, coordinate, and supervise engineering and maintenance works to ensure smooth and reliable plant operations. Uphold workplace safety requirements, drive 5S practices, and ensure compliance with ISO9001 and internal quality management systems. Travel occasionally for client discussions, technical reviews, conferences, and industry-related activities. Perform other duties or tasks as instructed by management.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Hands-on experience in plastic part design, jig and fixture development, or mechanical tooling design. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, DraftSight, or equivalent design platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to handle complex design and process challenges. Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Experience in prototyping, mold design, injection molding processes, or related manufacturing technologies will be an added advantage.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,200.00 per month
