Job Description

Responsible for leading a design team together with the development team to ensure the delivery of new designs from the concept stage to the development of prototypes through to finished products ready for manufacture.

• To manage and head the overall functions of the Mechanical Design & Development Department.
• To guide a group of design engineers in performing their daily duties and job allocations to meet the expectation of the job requirements.
• To manage and further improve the operations of the Designing Department in order to meet the requirement and expectations that are in line with the company's business goal.
• To design and interpret MECHANICAL blueprints and produce technical drawing/ fabrication parts drawings, assembly drawings according to customer's specification and requirements.
• To perform research and analyse customer's proposed design; investigate and diagnose probability of product failure/ faulty operation and propose an appropriate solution.
• To arrange and liaising with production or other departments, including marketing to discuss and negotiate appropriate processes, costs and commercial issue.
• To develop, coordinate and monitor all aspects of product manufacturing, fabrication and operation of product design.
• To recommend design modification to eliminate machine or system malfunction.
• To assist draughtsman in developing the structural design of products.
• To provide feedback to customer problems and needs.
• Occasionally travelling to client's production facilities and evaluating the feasibility of the production

• Degree in Product Design/ Mechatronic/ Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in Design Department.
• Good experience in designing and developing mechanical machines, mechanical parts and precast concrete mould will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Solidwork design
