We are a group of multi-disciplinary engineers that practices a blend of software, mechanical and electrical/electronic expertise. We are the team behind some of Dyson\'s intelligent product features, such as the Auto Mode floor type detection and dust detection features in our cordless vacuums, as well as other cutting-edge features that are currently in confidential development. In addition, we also develop bespoke solutions for internal automated testing and data analysis applications. These bespoke solutions enable both our team and fellow Dyson engineers to pioneer new technologies in situations where existing solutions do not exist.We develop, tune and test algorithms. We regularly code in C, Python, and LabVIEW. We typically use Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, and National Instruments hardware. We design mechanical components, fixtures, and clever mechanisms. We design our own electrical/electronic circuits, and the occasional PCBAs. We bring our designs to life by fabricating our own prototypes as much as possible, and partner with external suppliers where necessary.About the roleAs an intern in MechSys, you\'ll be at the frontlines of problem solving. You\'ll have the opportunity to apply the knowledge you\'ve learnt in university, while gaining real-world working experience. For maximum exposure, you\'ll be given the responsibility to deliver your own project, along with guidance and support from experienced mentor(s).
