Job Description


As a Medical Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in providing scientific support to both internal and external stakeholders. Your deep understanding of oncology treatments, patient journeys, and the latest advancements in the field will be instrumental in guiding strategic decisions of the company.

  • This is a senior-level role within the affiliate, vested with decision-making authority to request resources from the company (both within the affiliate and across the broader network) to create a greater impact on the patient journey.
  • The Medical Advisor places significant emphasis on leveraging external partnerships to identify opportunities for transforming patient outcomes quickly. They also disseminate company\'s expertise, scientific knowledge, and capabilities to external stakeholders.
  • Acts as a trusted partner and serves as the primary (though not exclusive) point of contact between stakeholders and the company. Internally, the Medical Advisor conveys patient and stakeholder community needs, prioritises resource allocation, and drives solutions that expedite desired outcomes.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders involved in the patient journey to overcome obstacles and unlock potential, thereby delivering value for patients and the community.
  • Takes responsibility for stewarding company\'s products throughout their life cycle and ensures their appropriate use, including sharing their merits with health care professionals (HCPs) in a truthful and balanced manner.
  • As an all-encompassing overseer of the patient journey, the Medical Advisor employs a systems-thinking approach, identifying shared objectives among stakeholders and collaborating to co-create solutions within the ecosystem.
  • Empowered to engage local and network expertise and resources as needed, including collaboration with other cross function teams.
  • Ensures exceptional stakeholder experiences in every engagement involving company\'s employees, products, and services within the ecosystem.
  • The Medical Advisor holds a medical affairs role and reports to the Country Medical Director.
  • Shares scientific information regarding pharmaceutical products, including investigations findings, through scientific media, direct communications, and presentations at scientific conferences in a responsive manner.
  • The Medical Advisor manages and supports products and services relevant to their therapeutic area/ecosystem throughout their life cycle, with a focus on promoting quality use of medicine and improving patient outcomes.
  • The Medical Advisor maintains a comprehensive understanding of the existing portfolio and future pipeline, enabling anticipation and proactive addressing of future-oriented ecosystem and patient journey solutions.
  • The Medical Advisor supports relevant PDMA and Country Clinical Operations trials, Early Access Programs, and Compassionate Use programs within their disease area/ecosystem.

Skills and Experience:
  • University degree in a scientific, pharmacy, MD, or PhD field. Possession of an advanced degree is advantageous.
  • Strongly preferred experience in the oncology field.
  • Demonstrates exceptional skills in engaging stakeholders, including effective partnership with TAEs (Therapeutic Area Experts) and organisations.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams, with a track record of formulating cross-functional strategies and successfully orchestrating teams.
  • Competence in conducting medical reviews of promotional materials.
  • Familiar with compassionate use programs (CUP) and Patient Advocacy Groups (PAG) is highly advantageous.
  • Broad comprehension of company\'s existing portfolio and future pipeline, facilitating the ability to contribute to future-oriented solutions.
  • Robust understanding of medical affairs strategies and tactics, including clinical research.
