We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated talent to join our Medical Diagnostic Laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological analyses and ensuring the quality and accuracy of test results. This role is critical to our commitment to providing exceptional diagnostic services and supporting clinical decision-making in patient care.

Roles and Responsibilities

1.

Supervision:*

a. Overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring workflow efficiency.

b. Supervising and mentoring laboratory scientists, laboratory technologists and support staff.

c. Coordinating schedules and managing staff assignments to ensure adequate coverage.

2.

Quality Control and Quality Assurance:*

a. Developing, implementing, and monitoring quality control programs to ensure high standards of laboratory testing.

b. Conducting internal audits and participating in external quality assurance programs.

Assist CLQO in reviewing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) to align with current best practices and regulatory standards.

Data Management and Interpretation:

Analyzing and interpreting complex test results. Preparing detailed and accurate reports, ensuring data integrity and reliability. Assisting clinicians and healthcare providers with understanding laboratory findings.

Training and Professional Development:

Designing and conducting training programs for new and existing laboratory staff. Staying current with advancements in laboratory science and technology through continuous education and professional development. Encouraging and facilitating the professional growth of laboratory personnel.

Regulatory and Compliance:

Ensuring the laboratory complies with all relevant regulations and accreditation requirements, e.g: ISO 15189. Preparing for and participating in laboratory inspections and accreditation processes. Maintaining comprehensive and accurate documentation of laboratory activities and processes. Recognizing and monitoring the potential hazards in the work environment and how to manage them safely and report them in line with department protocols.

Specialized Roles and Expertise:

Serving as an expert in a particular area of laboratory science, such as hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, serology or molecular diagnostics. Developing protocols and procedures for specialized testing.

Qualifications

Education: Degree in MLT / Biomedicine or its equivalent .

Experience: Fresh Graduate or Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in laboratory setting specialized in Hematology or Clinical Chemistry.

Technical Skills: Support the department in all the Quality Management & Patient Safety initiatives (Quality Environment Safety & Health management systems, Accreditation, Patient Safety Goals, quality indicators, quality improvement, Internal Audits, etc) and ensures that the system is always monitored & maintained. Helps to develop a culture of high quality, safety, cost effectiveness, efficiency, and efficacy of patient care.

Certification: Have a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) license.

Pay: RM85.00 - RM95.00 per day excluding allowance.
