Job Description

Position Overview:

Collect and prepare specimens and perform laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis. Verify record and report lab results on all performed tests. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and laboratory procedures, including maintaining the cleanliness of lab equipment, instruments and work area.

Job Duty:

1. Preparing forms for samples which will be send out

2. Recording all send out samples and compile the result accordingly.

3. To ensure all result which has been outsourced is reported in time.

4. To take reasonable care at workplace for the safety of oneself, others and to comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety, health and environment as required. Report all accidents / incidents and hazard to the superior and complete the Incident Report Form for each accident / incident.

5. Perform routine test in variety of laboratory setting.

6. Performing the Daily, Weekly and Monthly maintenance of laboratory Instrument.

7. Prepare reagents according to reagent preparation protocol.

8. Perform and monitor quality control every morning to ensure the accuracy testing.

9. Participate in specimen collection (Phlebotomist) when required according to test requested and maintain responsibility for the patient identification and specimen labelling.

10. Report result in computerized format and oral when required.

11. Participate in continuing education activities to maintain and enhance skill and competencies.

12. Performing on call duties according to the prepared schedule.

13. Handle confidential documents and must ensure that all information and data collected in the lab is kept safe and confidential.
