Main Duties and Responsibilities

Provide medical cover (routine and emergency) during duty hours, and act on behalf of a consultant when requested. Treat all patients with compassion, empathy, and respect for their privacy, dignity, and individuality. Provide continuous medical service during designated hours and remain on hospital premises while on duty. Ensure proper handover and clear communication between shifts. Lead the team in the event of a cardiac arrest. Support chemo daycare, including IV cannulations, phlebotomy, and managing chemo-induced allergic reactions. Perform medical procedures as required, such as: Blood taking IV cannulations Urinary catheterization Arterial blood sampling Insertion of nasogastric tubes Review patients upon nurses' requests, document findings, and follow up as appropriate. Review test results and communicate findings to consultants and relevant healthcare professionals. Perform COVID-19 swab tests when required (e.g., ICU transfer, surgery under general anesthesia). Certify deaths respectfully and liaise with the consultant regarding death certification. Conduct nightly rounds with DNA and team leader to review and manage patients. Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.

RMOs are

not authorized

to obtain consent for operations or procedures on behalf of consultants. RMOs

do not have admitting rights

-- all admissions must be under a consultant with admitting privileges. Except in emergencies, all major clinical decisions should be discussed with the consultant.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
