Nature and aim of the positionAs a MicroStrategy - Lead, you will provide comprehensive technical guidance and MicroStrategy architecture expertise to redesign our legacy reporting system and improve our Business Intelligence platform experience. You will lead the Data Warehouse model design, assess the current MicroStrategy environment, and oversee the development of the analytical tools.You will be responsible for defining best practices and standards for report visualizations, to ensure readability, consistency, and a positive overall user experience. You will be also responsible for evaluating new visualization features available publicly or from vendors, as well as performing architectural reviews of new reports being promoted to production.You should have a thorough knowledge of MicroStrategy product suite to design and develop advanced reports and dynamic Dossiers.As Senior Data Scientist, you are interacting with the Business Units, Commercial Units, Enterprise Architect as well as all other functions inside Technology.Main duties and responsibilitiesMicroStrategy schema definition, design, implementation, and maintenanceAnalysis and interpretation of business requirements and translation into functional and technical requirement specificationsDesigns and builds Dossiers and/or DashboardsBuilds data models/workflows and reporting schema semantic layersCreate and manage metric and attribute definitions related to schemaWorks with the business users to create functional requirements and technical documentsWorks closely with MicroStrategy support and System Administrator to ensure successful implementation and data migrationPerformance tuning, testing, and troubleshootingEvaluate current and emerging industry trends and best practices when designing solutionsWork closely with DBAs on data model or database changes as requiredReporting and collaborationThe holder of the position reports to a Head of Software Engineering for Added Value Payment Solution in Global Blue.The holder of the position collaborates with the Enterprise Architect, Business Units, and the Commercial organizationsKey competenciesAt least 6 years of Data Warehouse experience with development of logical and physical data modelsAt least 5 years of MicroStrategy experience including experience in designing schema objectsAt least 3 years of experience at Architect level, MicroStrategy v10.x+ Architect Certified is preferred3 years of experience in the card payment processing industry a plusExperience on Intelligent Cube Development, Custom widget, visualization development and implementationExperience with other analytical packages or data manipulation languages (Tableau, Python) and integration of these with MicroStrategy is an advantageHands on development experience in BI reporting and Performance tuningAdvanced SQL coding skillsPreferable skills and competenciesDemonstrates strategic thinking with an entrepreneurial spiritDemonstrates a strong customer orientation - actively seeks innovative ways to improve processes, and user experienceAbility to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual designExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent presentation skills and an ability to engage audiencesAbility to effectively collaborate with others to reach mutually agreeable outcomesAbility to work independently as well as with a team.Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlinesPossess a "can do" attitude and positive outlook, minimizing negative behavioursAbility to communicate effectively in a multicultural, multinational environment and mobilize cross-functional high-performance teamsFluent in EnglishEducation and qualificationsComputer Science or Engineering degree or relevant work experienceProject management skills a plus
