About the role

A lab technician to performs the practical hands-on work and experimental activities in Microbiology laboratory.

To perform and executes laboratory techniques as per methods independently, following the company SOP to carry out the analysis.

To carry out the tests as per documented procedure and relevant standards (IEC, ASTM, etc) and update the test results in designated test report.

To update the test results to the respective Test Items under designated PLM TRs.

To carry out routine instrument check for compliance and accurate testing results.

To always maintain the housekeeping of the lab.

To always comply with safety and health requirements and lab rules.

To maintain the rigs and equipment in the lab ensuring that they are within the calibration period and in good condition.

To notify Test Engineer on any outstanding issues in getting the tests completed.

To participate in MSA activities (e.g. gage 1 study, gage R&R and alignment).

To train new operator and cross training purpose for multiskilling upgrade.

Other related tasks may be given in addition to the above main tasks.

About you

Diploma in engineering preferably Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry or a related field.

Certificate in engineering with relevant and sufficient experience (minimum 2 years) may be considered.

Acceptable communication skills (verbal and written) in English.

Capable of working under pressure, commit to tight deadlines and able to think and react promptly.

Ability to look at details is an added advantage.

Able to work independently.

Able to understand and interpret tests results.

Able to multi tasks to meet job requirements.

Able to work in shift.

Self starter with full of initiative to make the difference.

Perseverance - consistently putting effort to maintain and further improve current system / method.

Fast learner.
