Job Summary

Provides technical rating and policy issuance support to underwriting team, utilizing automated systems in the rating, coding and policy issuance of all transactions for multiple lines of business. Interacts with appropriate staff to obtain and provide necessary information in order to resolve issues and provide timely, accurate service to attract and retain profitable business. Assists underwriters with information on rates and premiums for policies.

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

• Rates and codes Private & Confidential lines of business for supported business units.
• Computes premiums on new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellation transactions.
• Inputs rating and statistical coding information into system.
• Quotes risk or does worksheet/proposal.
• Communicates directly with Underwriting Assistants regarding current rating and forms requirements, to issue a policy.
• Reconciles discrepancies and checks work for accuracy.
• Responds promptly and accurately to requests for information.
• Processes work with attention to timeliness, productivity, and quality.
• Performs a general self-check of work.
• Processes all work within department standards.

• Make suggestions to improve procedures.

Job Qualifications

Required:
Preferred:

• Underwriting support experience
• Excellent customer service orientation
• Ability to produce a quality product with detail and accuracy
• Must be proficient in typing, both in speed and accuracy
