Job Description

The Music Teacher (Recorder) is responsible for delivering engaging and effective music lessons focused on recorder skills and foundational music concepts. This role involves planning and conducting lessons that develop students' musical abilities, performance confidence, and appreciation for music. The teacher will guide students in learning proper recorder techniques, reading basic musical notation, and performing individually and as an ensemble. The role also includes evaluating student progress, preparing materials, and contributing to school music events.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver structured music lessons with a focus on recorder instruction for various age groups. Teach students proper recorder techniques, including breath control, fingering, tone production, and rhythm. Introduce and reinforce basic music theory such as notation, tempo, pitch, and dynamics. Develop lesson plans and learning materials suited to students' skill levels. Conduct practice sessions, rehearsals, and small group ensemble activities. Assess student performance through assignments, class participation, and practical evaluations. Provide constructive feedback to support student improvement and musical growth. Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, encouraging learning environment. Organize and prepare students for performances, showcases, or school events. Maintain teaching materials, instruments, and records of student progress. Participate in curriculum development and contribute to improving music programs. Perform any additional duties assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications Needed

Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Music Education, Music Performance, Performing Arts, or a related field.*
Proficiency in playing and teaching the recorder; ability to demonstrate proper techniques and musical expression.*
Basic knowledge of music theory and the ability to teach notation and rhythm reading.*
At least 2 years of Experience in the related field is required*
Experience in delivering IGCSE syllabus to an advantage*
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, and English*
Willing to work in Seri Kembangan*
Good interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and communication skills*
Strong moral values and discipline*
Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school's policies and procedures.*

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
