Job Description

PURPOSE To plan, administer, and operates the school computers and internet network to ensure stable, secure and easy communication and transmission of data and information. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Network Administration: To plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network hardware, software, and communication links to facilitate transmission of information and knowledge. \xc2\xa7 Designs and deploys the school network, hardware and software. \xc2\xa7 Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices. \xc2\xa7 Identifies and follows up the provision of network and systems requirements and users\xe2\x80\x99 needs. \xc2\xa7 Maintains integrity of the network, server deployment, network connectivity, and security. \xc2\xa7 Administers and maintains end user accounts, permissions, and access rights. \xc2\xa7 Maintains network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems. \xc2\xa7 Administers servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches. \xc2\xa7 Monitors and Maintains daily performance of the school network and computer systems. \xc2\xa7 Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. \xc2\xa7 Tests and check new purchased hardware units and software products. \xc2\xa7 Plans and provides end user training where required Maintenance and Data Protection: To Analyze and resolve users hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate manner to ensure preventing downtime and the protection of all data. \xc2\xa7 Plans and implements preventive maintenance. \xc2\xa7 Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades. \xc2\xa7 Practice network asset management. \xc2\xa7 Provides technical assistance and support to solve software, and hardware problems. \xc2\xa7 Troubleshoots system and network problems and diagnoses and solves hardware or software faults. \xc2\xa7 Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems. \xc2\xa7 Plan and Conducts electrical safety checks on computer equipment. \xc2\xa7 Maintain and verify backup servers/systems QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES Qualifications \xc2\xa7 University degree in the field of computer science/computer engineering with a focus on network design and administration. \xc2\xa7 Professional Training courses and certificates CCNA/CCNP (preferred). Experience \xc2\xa7 At least three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in network administration. \xc2\xa7 Experience in working in educational/academic environment \xc2\xa7 Experience in hardware troubleshooting. \xc2\xa7 Experience in data protection. \xc2\xa7 Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Qualities and competencies \xc2\xa7 Able to install, support, and troubleshoot server and PC hardware components and peripherals. \xc2\xa7 Strong written and oral communication skills. \xc2\xa7 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines \xc2\xa7 Strong interpersonal skills. \xc2\xa7 Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required. \xc2\xa7 Ability to present ideas in user-friendly and non-technical language. \xc2\xa7 Highly self-motivated and directed. \xc2\xa7 Keen attention to detail. \xc2\xa7 Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. \xc2\xa7 Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. \xc2\xa7 Ability to effectively communicate directly with stakeholders. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,500.00 per month Benefits:
