Job Description

JOB PURPOSE Network Architect responsible for overseeing and managing the development and implementation of network solutions to meet the organization\'s business objectives. The position reports to Head of Network Engineering of Sacofa Sdn Bhd. RESPONSIBILITIES: \xe2\x80\xa2 Network Solution Strategy: Developing and executing network solution strategies aligned with the organization\'s business goals and objectives. This involves assessing current network infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement, and defining a roadmap for implementing network solutions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Solution Design and Architecture: Collaborating with network architects and engineers to design and architect network solutions that meet business requirements. This includes analyzing technical and functional specifications, evaluating network technologies and vendors, and ensuring the proposed solutions align with industry best practices and standards. \xe2\x80\xa2 Project Management: Planning, organizing, and managing network solution projects. This involves creating project plans, defining project scope and objectives, allocating resources, setting timelines, and monitoring project progress. The Manager, Network Solutions ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. \xe2\x80\xa2 Stakeholder Management: Engaging and collaborating with various stakeholders, such as business units, executive management, and IT teams. This includes understanding their requirements, translating them into network solution designs, managing expectations, and providing regular updates on project status and outcomes. \xe2\x80\xa2 Vendor Management: Evaluating and selecting network solution vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships with external suppliers and service providers. The Manager, Network Solutions ensures that vendor solutions meet the organization\'s requirements and align with quality and performance standards. \xe2\x80\xa2 Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and issues associated with network solutions and implementing risk mitigation strategies. This involves conducting risk assessments, developing contingency plans, and ensuring that network solutions are resilient and secure. \xe2\x80\xa2 Technical Expertise and Support: Keeping up to date with emerging network technologies, industry trends, and best practices. The Manager, Network Solutions provides technical guidance and support to the network team, troubleshoots complex issues, and assists in resolving network-related problems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Documentation and Reporting: Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of network solutions, including design specifications, configurations, and operational procedures. The Manager, Network Solutions also prepares regular reports on network performance, project status, and key performance indicators for management review. \xe2\x80\xa2 Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement initiatives for network solutions, including evaluating new technologies, identifying process enhancements, and recommending optimizations to enhance network performance, scalability, and efficiency. REQUIREMENTS: \xe2\x80\xa2 Education: A bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, or telecommunications is typically required. Some organizations may prefer candidates with specialized certifications or advanced degrees in networking or related disciplines. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in network engineering, network architecture, or network solutions design is typically expected. Candidates with prior experience in managing network projects or leading network solution teams are highly valued. Experience in the telecommunications or IT industry is often preferred. \xe2\x80\xa2 Technical Skills: Strong technical expertise in networking technologies, protocols, and architectures is essential. This includes knowledge of routing and switching, network security, wireless networks, virtualization, cloud computing, and software-defined networking (SDN). Proficiency in network design tools, network monitoring systems, and network management software is also valuable. \xe2\x80\xa2 Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills and experience in leading network solution projects are important qualifications. Candidates should be familiar with project management methodologies, tools, and practices. Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 can be advantageous. \xe2\x80\xa2 Leadership and Communication: Effective leadership and communication skills are crucial for a Manager, Network Solutions. They should be able to lead and motivate teams, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills are also important. \xe2\x80\xa2 Problem-solving and Analytical Abilities: Managers, Network Solutions should possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify network-related issues, evaluate solution options, and make informed decisions. They should be able to analyse complex technical challenges, troubleshoot network problems, and propose effective solutions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Business Acumen: Understanding the business goals and objectives of the organization is essential. Managers, Network Solutions should have a good grasp of the industry trends, market dynamics, and the impact of network solutions on business outcomes. They should be able to align network strategies with business requirements and contribute to strategic decision-making. \xe2\x80\xa2 Certifications: Industry certifications from reputable organizations such as Cisco, Juniper, or CompTIA, such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), JNCIP (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional), or Network+ can add credibility and demonstrate a candidate\'s proficiency in networking concepts and technologies.
