Job Brief To support daily operations of company IP Core Network, monitor network status, monitor and manage trouble tickets, provides remote assistance to engineers and customer, liaise with vendors and customers to resolve network issues. Roles & Responsibility
Monitors alerts/trouble tickets to ensure that service levels are being met.
Manages alerts/trouble tickets during an outage including providing internal notifications.
Maintain and ensure the network infrastructure is well integrated, properly configured, tested, and secure.
Remotely tests lines, trunks, and other facilities.
Makes device configuration changes.
Provide remote troubleshooting support for Field Services technicians.
Provides customers with ticket status updates, and completes customer callbacks when the trouble has been resolved.
Operate, analyze and resolve customer\xe2\x80\x99s and network issues and propose technical resolution in time.
Provide remote support for the installation and configuration of the switches and routers.
Responsible for the preparing and maintenance of the log troubleshooting notes and network trouble tickets.
Liaise with the telecommunication provider on line related matters.
Work in the diverse group of the network operation officers for the repair activity of Fiber optic cable
Coordinating and reports on:
Operations processes and procedures
Scheduled maintenance activities
Trouble tickets
Alarms
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelors\xe2\x80\x99 degree in Computer /communication engineering or equivalent.
CCNA or any equivalent certification is an advantage.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in network and telecommunication field.
Skills
Solving problems of moderate complexity:
Maintaining stakeholder relationships
Experience of first line maintenance and alarm monitoring for Cisco, Fiberhome, or any active equipment will be an added advantage.
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols TCP/IP, UDP and ICMP.
Experience of technologies and protocols such as Ethernet, MPLS, ADSL, and layer 3 protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF.
Ability to troubleshoot the above technologies effectively and understanding of troubleshooting commands required to do so.
Sound knowledge of the routers, switches and other hardware.
Proficient on working in IP addresses, routing and switching.
Comfortable working on command line, GUI and networking environment.
Exceptional ability to analyze and resolve the issues of the customers.
Cisco CCNA certificate holder will be an added advantage.
Experience in Network Support / Network Engineer
At least 2 years & above experience working in senior Technical Support or network operations center environment
Knowledge in Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
Knowledge in routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, ISIS and BGP).
Knowledge in QOS design and configuration is a plus.
Experience in using Microsoft Visio.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
