NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer

Role Overview:

The NPI Engineer is responsible for the successful introduction of new products into the production process. They work closely with design, engineering, and production teams to ensure that new products are manufactured efficiently and meet all quality and cost requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development Support: Collaborate with design and R&D teams during the product development phase to ensure designs are manufacturable. Provide feedback on potential manufacturing challenges and suggest design modifications.

Process Development:

Develop and implement new manufacturing processes or modify existing ones to accommodate new products. Work on process validation and testing to ensure that the new processes meet production standards.

Pilot Production:

Lead pilot production runs to test the manufacturability of new products. Analyze pilot run results and make necessary adjustments to processes before full-scale production.

Documentation and Training:

Create detailed process documentation, work instructions, and training materials for production teams. Train production staff on new processes and procedures related to the new product.

Cost Analysis:

Conduct cost analysis to ensure that the new product can be produced within budget. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities in the production of the new product.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, procurement, and production, to ensure a smooth transition from development to full-scale production. Coordinate with suppliers for the procurement of new materials or components needed for the new product.
