D. Overall Purpose of the Job
The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is responsible for coordinating all occupational health-related activities at site under the guidance of the Occupational Health Doctor (OHD).
As an Onshore Medic, the role provides critical clinical support to site medics during emergencies, delivers healthcare services to the workforce, manages day-to-day clinic operations, and supports medical evacuations in accordance with International SOS standards.
E. Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
Provide clinical consultations and deliver high-quality medical care to patients attending the clinic.
Ensure continuity of care through appropriate follow-up, referrals, and documentation.
Support preventive healthcare initiatives, including medical screenings and health surveillance.
Deliver medical services in line with International SOS clinical standards.
Ensure effective patient triage and clinic workflow.
Coordinate with International SOS Assistance Centres (AC) and Coordinating Doctors for case management and medical evacuations.
Quality Assurance and Administration
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Advisor to ensure consistent quality and clinical outcomes.
Adhere to medical escalation procedures during case management.
Seek guidance from AC regarding prescription medications when required.
Maintain accurate and compliant patient medical records and documentation.
Assist in the selection, maintenance, and control of medical equipment and supplies.
Conduct self-audits to ensure clinic compliance with standards, SOPs, and audit readiness.
Track, analyse, and report clinic utilisation data using approved formats.
Identify gaps through periodic audits and implement corrective action plans in collaboration with the Assistant Operations Manager.
Promotion of International SOS Services
Represent International SOS professionally at all times.
Promote a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) culture within the clinic.
Support client engagement and promotion of International SOS medical services.
Participate in health, disease prevention, environmental, and personal protection initiatives.
Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (OHS&E)
Comply with all company OHS&E policies, standards, and guidelines.
Promote safe work practices and participate in OHS&E activities.
Contribute to the achievement of company OHS&E objectives and KPIs.
Take responsibility for workplace health and safety.
Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities
Support the development and maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace.
Complete all mandatory OH&S training.
Comply with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
Cooperate with management to meet legislative requirements.
Take reasonable care for personal and others' health and safety.
Report all injuries, hazards, or illnesses promptly.
Additional Responsibilities
Act as a medical escort for evacuations when required.
Promote first aid and CPR awareness among site staff.
Ensure medical emergency response plans are implemented and maintained.
Perform drug and alcohol screening in accordance with approved SOPs.
Supervise ambulance drivers and ensure ambulance readiness and safety.
Support site medics during emergency and trauma cases.
Report unsafe acts and conditions at worksites.
Attend HSE meetings as required.
F. Job ProfileRequired Registration and Qualifications
Valid Annual Practising Certificate issued by the Medical Assistant Board or Nursing Board.
Valid Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) certification from NIOSH.
Knowledge of local safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
Valid medical examination and vaccination records.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Certification in ACLS, ITLS, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of medical practice principles.
Experience in both primary care and emergency medicine.
Additional certifications as required by site or regulatory authorities.

F.1 Daily ResponsibilitiesMedical Services
Attend to all medical and trauma cases.
Complete clinical documentation including PCR, MAL, and related reports.
Liaise with Assistance Centres and complete required documentation.
Inform client representatives of all trauma and work-related injuries.
Coordinate emergency disembarkation and evacuation arrangements.
Fitness to Work (FTW)
Implement FTW processes in accordance with company procedures.
Identify and maintain records of employees requiring FTW assessments.
Manage medical records including pre-employment, periodic, and surveillance checks.
Track FTW compliance and provide FTW awareness programs.
Arrange return-to-work assessments as advised by the OHD.
Public Health Services
Conduct hygiene inspections and monitor communicable disease control.
Perform cafeteria inspections and worksite walkabouts.
Health Records
Maintain outpatient records and monthly health performance reports.
Manage health surveillance records including test results.
Health Promotion
Promote healthy lifestyle initiatives and workplace wellness programs.
Conduct health talks and occupational health awareness sessions.
Participate in HSE assurance activities.
Medical Surveillance
Maintain medical surveillance lists and compliance tracking.
Provide medical surveillance training.
Compile and submit surveillance and clinic performance data.
F.2 Weekly Responsibilities
Inspect first aid and pathogen stations.
Check emergency immobilisation equipment and stretchers.
Inspect eyewash stations.
Deliver weekly health topics during safety or toolbox meetings.
Conduct training sessions with ambulance teams.
F.3 Monthly Responsibilities
Complete major medical equipment checklists within 24 hours of arrival.
Reconcile and counter-sign controlled drugs registers.
Prepare handover documentation for relief staff.
Conduct monthly inventory checks.
Order drugs and medical consumables as required.
Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned by the client or line management.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
