Talent Buddy Child Learning and Education Center is expanding and we're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in Sibu Town.
About Us
Talent Buddy is a certified child development center offering a wide range of services including occupational therapy, speech therapy, child psychology, applied behavior analysis (ABA), special education, early intervention programs (EIP) and play therapy.
We serve children with developmental delays, autism, ADHD, GDD, intellectual disabilities, learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia and behavioral challenges.
We believe that early, professional and compassionate intervention can change the trajectory of a child's life -- and we're looking for someone who shares that vision.
Key Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapist at Talent Buddy, you will:
Conduct functional assessments for children with diverse developmental and behavioral conditions.
Develop customized, goal-based treatment plans based on client needs.
Deliver one-on-one or group occupational therapy sessions to children with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
- Down Syndrome
- Dyslexia
- Intellectual Disability (ID)
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including speech therapists, special educators, child psychologists and ABA therapists.
Monitor and document progress, adjust interventions as needed.
Engage with parents or caregivers to provide education and strategies for home-based support.
Participate in community outreach, awareness campaigns and therapy workshops (optional).
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
Valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Malaysia
Good verbal and written communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese or Iban
Passion for working with children and making a meaningful difference in their lives
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Experience in pediatric occupational therapy, especially in developmental and behavioral cases
Strong ability to conduct standardized assessments
Skilled in developing individualized therapy programs
Patient, empathetic and adaptable when working with children
Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team setting
Basic report writing and documentation skills
Ability to build strong rapport with parents, caregivers and educators
Working Hours
Flexible schedule based on appointment slots or center hours
Full-time therapists may work 5.5 days per week (negotiable)
Internship and locum opportunities offer flexible arrangements
