Position: Senior Structural / FEM Engineer

Overview

We are currently looking for a structural / FEM engineer to strengthen the Temporary Steel Design team. As a structural engineer your focus is on preparing and creating FEA models for temporary steel structures for maritime operations, perform FEA calculations related to foundations, beam models, strength, fatigue, buckling and stiffness and to check and adapt the structures and design. You'll work closely together with the project teams of the HQ office, who provide the first concept, as well as engineers who will detail the models. Although your job is focused on Structural Engineering, it would be a plus if you have some experience with design and 3D/2D software as well. The projects you're going to work on are client specific offshore operations, where you can think of design for seafastening, grillages and bladeracks.

Responsibilities

Prepare and create FEA models; Perform FEA calculations related to foundations, beam models, strength etc. Check and adapt structures and design based on your calculations; Coordination of structural work in cooperation with the HQ Team

What we ask

A Bsc. or Msc. In Naval Architecture, Maritime Engineering or comparable; 10+ years' of experience with structural engineering in the maritime industry Knowledge of software like Ansys, Femap or RFEM A flexible and proactive attitude Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
