This involves the partnership between Clinicians & Management to ensure a sustainable framework and appropriate resources to deliver quality services and ensure patient safety as a part of everyday operations and practices. Effective and consistent implementation of International SOS Policies, Standards, Procedures and Processes are important requirements of Clinical Governance that ensure client satisfaction, patient safety and effective risk management as well as continuous quality improvement (CQI) of clinical practice. Compliance with these requirements is monitored as part of the International SOS Integrated Management System that includes Clinical Governance Committees and meetings, internal and external audits, Site and Medical Service Centre reporting, clinical incident management and patient outcome monitoring, emergency drills, competency assessment etc. Each medical officer in Medical Services is responsible for the Clinical Governance of their own practice as well as the teams they manage and supervise. Job Purpose :
To perform the role of Remote Site Doctor, by providing emergency and primary health care and coordinating the relevant clinical and administrative tasks in keeping with the standard operating policies and procedures of PKA.SOS and Intl.SOS.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Maintain current Annual Practicing Certificate and provide proof on request
Hold clinical medicine license or Public Health license
Proficient in GP and ER practice
Confident, good teamwork, communication skills, pleasant, outgoing, presentable, well-polished, and excellent customer service attitude
Professional, empathetic behavior towards patients, their families, and friends
Good PC skills (Word, Excel, Internet)
Knowledge of primary medical care, including Internal Medicine and General Surgery
Familiar with routine and advanced immunization recommendations for travelers
Knowledge and skills in Emergency Medicine, including travel-related illnesses, especially infectious ones
Technical ability to operate all medical equipment in the clinic's Observation/Resuscitation room and examination rooms
Effective communication skills with patients and colleagues
Demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude
Required Competencies
Proficient in Emergency Skills, CPR, and ventilator use
Punctuality and good attendance
Strong commitment to patient service
Ability to work effectively as part of a professional team, ensuring trust and integrity within the team
Required Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of work experience in Emergency Care and Intensive Care
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's in Medicine and Surgery (or equivalent)
Qualified paramedic, registered nurse, or appropriate health qualification
Current valid license to practice (APC)
Current certifications as per Contract Scope of Work for Remote Site Emergency Paramedic (e.g., BLS, ACLS, ITLS)
Current certifications for Offshore Remote Site Emergency Paramedic (e.g., BOSIET, H2S, HACCP, TENORM, Noise, and Chemical Awareness)
Required Languages
Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Travel / Rotation Requirements
Travel to/from site provided by PKA.SOS or Intl.SOS during offsite time
ACLS and/or ITLS training is an added quality
