The Operations Quality Assurance (QA) hub is the essential function team to perform continuous monitoring and testing on existing controls to meet increasing demand on mitigating control residual risk and self-assessment from regulators. As a line function, the role has continued to evolve to fit the demand from both Operation management and control environment and be more efficient and effective to assure the quality of operation production. By producing regular MIS, the team provide valuable insight for senior management to assess the Operational Risk undertaking.

Key Responsibilities

The role is based in Malaysia, and you will be servicing APAC region with a focus on China markets. You will be doing a combination of routine QA testing, project management, and advisory role for APAC Quality Assurance and Operations Control Management (OCM) community. You will be working closely with the regional/country Operations BAU teams, regional/country OCM teams, APAC QA hub sub-teams/local team members and other stakeholders to help facilitate QA business and various initiatives, evaluate the execution quality of the control for CIB Operations. You will also be expected to assist in planning for a QA and control strategy.

The role is based in Malaysia, and you will be servicing APAC region with a focus on China markets.

Perform Quality Assurance in APAC
  • Conduct quality assurance testing on operation implementation according to the testing steps embedded SOP on a timely manner
  • Record the progress and any observation in MIS once the test is completed
  • Follow up on remediation action and coordinate with action owners for progress tracking and prepare operation related meeting deck within deadline
  • Implement QA Program for APAC CIB Operations - the program should cover across various businesses (e.g. Payments Ops / Securities Services Ops and Markets Ops)
  • Implement the program by partnering with OCM colleagues and Operation partners
  • Perform the QA as a tester or QA reviewer
  • Oversee the implementation of actions required in SOP embedded into testing steps timely

Deliver Productivity Improvement
  • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of existing QA testing process by utilizing Alteryx, IDQ, Qlikview, Tableau, Robotics, Xceptor, AI, or any other digital solution in variety of areas including but not limited to; MIS and report preparation, QA and self-tests, etc.
  • Deliver Automation (optimization) program / AI initiatives of QA process locally/regionally
  • Provide insights of the overall control environment and improvement suggestions

Qualifications / Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree
  • At least 1 year of overall experience in either/ or is required:
    • Working experience in Controls / Audit / Regulatory in a financial institution
    • Experience with using automation tools such as Alteryx/ Uipath/ Python/SQL/ VBA
  • Prior experience in Securities Services Ops/ Equities Operations/ Market Operations is highly preferred
  • Good organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks within tight timeline
  • Comfortable with change, ambiguity, debate, conflict and informed risk taking
  • Be able to work independently as well as being a team-player
  • A relevant professional qualification, technique skillsets, intellectual automation/AI machine learning /digitalization experience is desirable
