Receive instructions from the Branch Manager on directions, goals, strategies, processes, and methods related to maintenance and mechanical operations.
Plan, execute, and manage all machinery and equipment maintenance activities within the warehouse and operations site.
Provide mechanical solutions to improve productivity, minimize manual processes, and support operations efficiency.
Coordinate cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams to ensure equipment readiness and minimal downtime.
Ensure timely servicing, repairs, and performance checks of all operational equipment such as water jets, pumps, forklifts, sweepers, cone crushers, tankers, and conveyor systems.
Take full accountability for the upkeep, compliance, and availability of machinery to support warehouse operations.
Provide support and guidance to the operations team on the proper use and upkeep of mechanical assets.
Liaise with external contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of parts and services.
Maintain machinery-related records and assist the Branch Manager in forecasting equipment-related expenditures (OPEX/CAPEX).
Ensure all equipment operations meet safety, health, and environmental compliance standards.
Warehouse Operations:
Manage the maintenance and servicing schedule for all warehouse equipment and machinery.
Diagnose faults, conduct repairs, and troubleshoot equipment-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Propose and implement mechanical solutions to simplify manual tasks, increase efficiency, and support productivity improvements.
Monitor equipment performance and suggest upgrades or replacements where necessary.
Ensure all machines comply with health, safety, and operational standards.
Liaise with suppliers and contractors for parts, repairs, or external services.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory of spare parts.
Train operational staff on the proper usage and basic upkeep of machinery.
Support project teams in equipment setup, modifications, and installation when required.
Be on-call to attend to urgent equipment-related issues when necessary.
Perform any other additional tasks assigned by the HOD.
Reporting:
Compile Monthly Operations Performance Report with statistics for submission to Branch Manager
Prepare and submit a Monthly Maintenance Report with details on equipment performance, downtime, repairs conducted, and planned maintenance schedules to the Branch Manager.
Ensure daily maintenance activity logs are completed and updated accurately, including fault reports, inspection checklists, and job completion records.
Track and report equipment usage hours, service intervals, and forecast maintenance requirements.
Ensure all external service providers or contractors submit service reports, inspection forms, and repair documents in a timely and complete manner.
Respond to all maintenance-related emails promptly, especially those involving urgent operational needs or safety concerns.
Submit any ad-hoc reports requested by the Branch Manager or Head of Department (HOD) related to equipment status, project progress, or budget estimations.
Compile and submit a Weekly Maintenance Summary Report as part of KPI tracking-- highlighting completed jobs, pending tasks, and operational risks due to machinery issues.
Ensure equipment inventory and spare parts usage reports are accurately recorded and submitted for review.
Requirement:
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven hands-on experience in maintaining and managing industrial equipment.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Ability to assess manual processes and propose practical machine-based solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and a team player attitude.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Familiarity with equipment such as cone crushers, conveyors, sweepers, forklifts.
Experience in warehouse or plant operations.
Certification in machinery safety or maintenance-related programs is a plus.
