Ensure all vessels assigned under you are always in good operating condition and ready to meet the vessel's expected on-hire target date set by the Client(s) or turnaround time between PACs/Clients.
Ensure strict compliance and implementation of the company's ISO, HSE, Integrated Management System (IMS), and digital integrated suite (Savvy Mariner - operational related and OVMSA modules) onboard all assigned vessels.
Ensure vessels comply with authorities e.g. Classification Society, Marine Department, Ministry of Transport for eDSL, other local authorities (Ship Sanitation), etc., monitor vessel daily operations, and liaise and/or meeting with clients, vendors, agents, and crews to ensure smooth and safe operations.
Planning, arranging, attending, and preparing for vessel inspection assigned under you and taking the lead to expedite the close-out findings (PHI, OVID, Class Survey, DP Trials, etc) between inter departments.
Work closely between inter-department e.g. technical, crewing, and/or commercial teams, on an issue that arises onboard during the charter period are resolved timely to avoid or minimize the commercial/ contractual repercussions.
Consistently observe and analyze current operations for each assigned vessel and actively initiate improvement plans.
Prepare the yearly operating budgets for each assigned vessel and control requisitions for spares and stores within the approved budget.
Maintains good and professional working relationships with all client representatives and business partners involved in the operations of the company's vessels.
Ensure requirements set by clients for the dedicated project are met or delivered on time.
To perform ad hoc duties given by the Management, as and when required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Marine Engineering, Nautical studies, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
Certificate of Competency (COC), Min Class 3.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in vessel operations management within the oil and gas industry.
Demonstrated experience in overseeing vessel maintenance, inspections, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Certification or training in relevant areas such as DP (Dynamic Positioning) operations, ISM (International Safety Management) Code, and ISO standards may be advantageous.
Strong work ethic, attitude, ability to work under pressure, and quick thinking are essential.
Good interpersonal skills including the ability to express yourself well, articulate and persuasive, good teamwork skills, responsible, and organized.
Good command of verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
