1-Year Contract (Permanent conversion opportunity after 9-month review)
What You'll Do
Prepare parts and surfaces for painting -- cleaning, masking, sanding, degreasing, rust removal and applying primer.
Operate spray gun and related painting equipment (wet paint / powder coating)
Follow proper drying and curing procedures for each coating type.
Check and maintain coating quality through visual and adhesion inspections.
Maintain proper record of paint usage and daily production report.
Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of spray gun, paint shop area, and filters.
Keep paint area organized and ensure safe storage and handling of chemicals.
Follow PPE and ventilation safety rules.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor related to paint shop operations.
Support continuous improvement or cross-department activities.
What You Need
1-2 years of experience
in spray painting, powder coating, or metal finishing (automotive / fabrication background preferred)
Able to identify paint quality issues and perform corrective touch-ups
Open-minded and willing to learn new processes or improve existing process.
Forklift or crane operation knowledge is an added advantage.
Knowledge of spray equipment maintenance, improving painting process, production optimization and ensuring coating quality (DFT, adhesion, surface prep) is an added advantage.
Working Conditions
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM
Breaks: 60min lunch + 10min morning and afternoon tea break + flexible solat time.
Overtime: OT pay rate compliant with Malaysian labor laws, OT scheduled based on project need.
Weekday OT: Minimum 2 hours per session with additional 30 minutes dinner break
Weekend OT: Full-day requirement (8:30 AM - 5:30 PM)
Environment: Factory + site (non-air-conditioned)
