Job Description

The Art & Craft Teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and creative lessons for secondary students (Years 7-11) in line with the Cambridge IGCSE Art & Design curriculum. The teacher is expected to nurture students' creativity and artistic expression while developing their technical art and design skills across a variety of media.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality Art & Craft lessons in accordance with the IGCSE curriculum standards. Guide students through creative projects that include drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media and digital art. Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including coursework and portfolio development for IGCSE Art & Design. Foster an appreciation of art and creativity, encouraging students to think critically and express themselves artistically. Organize and manage classroom resources, tools and materials effectively and safely. Evaluate and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records. Contribute to school exhibitions, art showcases and extracurricular art activities. Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive learning environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and teamwork. Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art projects across the curriculum where appropriate. Stay updated on current trends, techniques and technology in art education.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Design, or a related field (Teaching qualification preferred). Prior teaching experience at secondary level, preferably within the IGCSE or international school environment. Strong knowledge of art techniques, art history and various art media. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Passion for nurturing students' creativity and artistic potential. Ability to inspire and engage students with diverse learning needs.

Pay: RM80.00 - RM100.00 per hour
