Job Description


This role involves providing technical expertise and support to customers, identifying sales opportunities, developing and executing sales strategies to achieve business targets. The senior sales professional works closely with the sales team, product development, and marketing teams to provide customized solutions and ensure customer satisfaction. This role requires strong communication skills, technical knowledge, and a customer-focused approach.

  • Provide sales and technical consultation for a range of products and solutions
  • Manage and maintain the sales funnel according to the Ideal Sales Process, including opportunity management
  • Develop system solutions with customers, incorporating the use of third-party products alongside key products such as connectivity and network solutions
  • Undertake project management and coordinate customer projects, both locally and internationally
  • Represent the company professionally in public and with customers, industrial associations, and government institutions in Malaysia
  • Monitor and report on competitor activity within markets and customers
  • Work with the Managing Director/Regional Sales Manager to establish a forecast for the area, supporting business planning and the development of a long-term strategy for the Malaysian market
  • Use CRM to manage account data and document sales steps and processes, regularly updating progress through the Latest Estimation process
  • Develop business with local distribution/agents and system integrator networks, where applicable
  • Coordinate technical support for distribution/agents in conjunction with product managers and specialists from Singapore or global business units
  • Implement and maintain business contracts and purchase agreements as required
  • Use technical and commercial arguments to negotiate contracts with customers, highlighting unique selling points and successful design-ins
  • Share product, application, and market knowledge to aid the development of the company
  • Initiate, manage, and coordinate customer support activities with the customer service and inside sales team in the Malaysia office, involving the Singapore support team where required.

  • Possess a degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications technology, Mechatronics or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of work experience in Solution Selling, Complex Sales, and Applications in similar industries such as Machinery, Robotics, Material Handling, Rail, Energy, and Automation
  • Exceptional skills in Project Management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish strong relationships with local and global teams as well as customer buying center contacts
  • Self-motivated and driven to actively drive sales and develop businesses while having a strong association with the global brand and its reputation in the electrical and global automation markets
  • Proficient in developing business strategies and implementing them systematically with a long-term vision in mind
  • Proficient in English both written and spoken, and good in MS Office, Business Reporting, and CRM tools
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
