Your Job: The role will provide hands-on HR supports to Kluang Mill. Together with the Leaders and their teams, this incumbent will help to drive the people agenda to meet the business objectives, exhibition of company values & culture, adherence to HR policies & procedures, HR best practices and external legislative requirements. WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is completed in manufacturing facilities. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be always worn (may include safety glasses, ear protection, hair nets, beard bags (if applicable), full gowning) when in production area.

Driven by You Role Overview & Primary Accountabilities:
  • As a credible activist, enable the business to deliver results through advising business stakeholders on overall HR matters not limited to the following areas:
    Strategic Recruitment and Resourcing, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Services, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement and Performance Management
  • Enable Talent Management and culture transformation through both thought leadership and lead in the implementation for business unit led initiatives as well as enterprise talent and project work (talent reviews, succession planning, leadership development, performance management, wellbeing, inclusion/diversity, engagement/culture survey & action planning)
  • Identify and implement training and development programs that will ensure continued enhancement of employees\xe2\x80\x99 capabilities and competencies:
    Evaluate the training and development activities effectiveness (outcome) by conducting post training evaluation
    Coordinate training and development programs with training providers, team leaders, members and HRDC on a timely and effective manner
    Maximize and utilize HRD Fund by ensuring all training and development programs are registered with HRDC prior to the commencement of the identified training programs.
  • Lead the recruitment of blue-collar employees to enable fully staffed team in each respective department to achieve business results.
    • Manage and lead the talent acquisition of blue-collar employees by deploying innovative methods and creative problem-solving to ensure right candidate being placed at right role
  • Ensure our new hires are ready to contribute from day 1 through managing and conducting on-boarding programs for new joiners / mill visitors etc.
    • Own on-boarding/induction program for all new hired employees and coordinating with the respective line managers or team leaders for details department induction and mill layout familiarization.
    • Help keep our people safe through coordinating with the safety & quality department ensuring that safety & quality induction and proper on-job training programs for the new employees are conducted prior to release them to perform routine task.
  • Enable a positive working environment for all through supporting employees / industrial relations matters to maintain industrial harmony in the mill.
    • Develop and maintain good rapport with union representatives and its members through regular communication (dialogue, meeting, and discussion) on all blue-collar employees\xe2\x80\x99 issues.
    • Handle and attend as soon as possible blue-collar employees\xe2\x80\x99 grievance by responding to their grievance lodged and conduct misconduct investigation for misconduct lodged.
    • Coaching and counselling to the employees\xe2\x80\x99 that being referred to HR for any disciplinary issues.
    • Conduct investigation on reported misconduct.
    • Collective Agreement negotiation with the local site committee and national committee.
  • Help us live our purpose led, performance-oriented culture through managing and administering the blue-collar performance appraisal.
  • Lead and manage activities and programs outlined under K-C Cares to build employee engagement and ensure this is a great place to work for all employees
  • To lead and manage mill events management and mill cafeteria.
    • To manage the mill canteen facility and caterer in ensuring hygienic, cleanliness and conducive environment and in compliance with the local health department requirements.
  • To render HR support and assistance to the mill-wide program in achieving the company business objectives and maintain its credential (i.e. Quality Management System, Environment, Health & Safety Management System etc),
  • Change Management: Provide advice, counsel and information and serve as a resource for facilitating, planning, and implementing large scale change initiatives (to improve organizational effectiveness). As a credible HR specialist, engage with stakeholders in change management initiatives.
Essential Requirements:
  • Holds a degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences or any other relevant field with 5-8 years relevant working experience in Human Resource functions preferably in manufacturing environment.
  • Fundamental knowledge in local legislations i.e. Employment Act & Industrial Relation Act as well as the Human Rights requirements and guidelines.
  • A team player with strong leadership qualities (LQs) with excellence interpersonal, analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills. Ability to make sound decision with calculated risks and interact with senior leaders to drive change.
  • HR experience (operational and strategic) in unionized environment is an added advantage but not required (as we can train you).
  • Demonstrate expertise in executing full spectrum of HR operations
  • Good stakeholder management skills
  • Must be able to influence without direct authority through building effective partnerships
  • Actively pursuing continuous improvement in HR processes
  • Experience supporting talent management and/or culture transformation projects is strong plus. This includes benchmarking and implementing best-in-class strategies, processes, and programs
  • Able to multi-task, result driven and be resourceful
  • English and Bahasa Melayu fluency in both writing and speaking.
