Job Description

The Drama Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality drama lessons, fostering students' creativity, confidence, and performance skills. The role requires planning and teaching according to the school's curriculum (including IGCSE/IB, if applicable), directing school productions, and contributing to the broader performing arts program within the school.

Key Responsibilities



Plan, prepare, and deliver drama lessons in line with the school's curriculum and educational standards. Teach across various year levels, with particular focus on secondary students (including preparation for IGCSE Drama examinations). Develop students' skills in acting, stagecraft, voice, and movement, while encouraging creativity and self-expression. Direct and produce school plays, performances, and extracurricular drama activities. Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school requirements. Provide constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement. Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies. Collaborate with colleagues in the Performing Arts Department to integrate drama into cross-curricular learning opportunities. Organise and participate in school events, performances, and cultural activities. Support the holistic development of students in line with the school's vision and values.

Qualifications and Experience



Bachelor's Degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Theatre Studies, or a related field. Teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent) preferred. Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting. Experience teaching IGCSE Drama syllabus is highly desirable. Proven experience directing and producing drama productions or school plays.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
