Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To dispense medication as stated on prescriptions, maintaining accurate dispensing records and ensuring that the medication is labeled with the correct drug name, strength, quantity, direction for use, patient's name and any other necessary information.

2. To adhere to practice policies and procedures for dispensing medicines, in particular those relating to controlled drugs.

3. Providing a second check on all medication issued where necessary.

4. Maintaining minimum stock levels of medicines, checking expiry dates and storage conditions.

5. Receiving the delivery of the medication, checking the physical items and recording them into the computerized stock management system.

6. Maintaining dispensary equipment, ensuring it is clean, accurate and in a good condition at all times.

7. Ensure that the medication and prescription is given to the patient correctly by confirming the details shown on the prescription form and the label and confirming the dosage instruction where appropriate.

8. Respond to queries from patients, in person or through telephone conversation.

9. Liaise with members of the clinical team regarding medication for each patient.

10. At all times, maintain absolute confidentiality and not to dispense any drug which are not authorized /approved in writing by the Doctor.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 2 years of working experience

Diploma in Pharmacy related field

Able to work on shift basis, weekend and on Public Holidays

Can work independently with minimal supervision

Meticulous and detail attention especially on the prescription

Friendly and good communication skill

Pay: From RM2,300.00 per month
