Planning and Reporting Senior Analyst

Job Summary

The Planning & Reporting Senior Analyst is responsible for supporting all Sanofi finance GBUs and functions team regarding management reporting in TM1 and forecast consolidation, in accordance with Sanofi procedures, requirements and timelines.

This person will also support the Planning & Reporting Head to coordinate all transversal activities impacting the region by ensuring a high level of data integrity and analysis. This will also consist in interacting with the different country CFOs and their teams to ensure a strong alignment between the different stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting

  • Participate in the monthly close by overseeing the submission of actual figures (ERP and Headcount) in TM1 for all scopes belonging to the region and performing consistency checks among all the group systems (e.g.: MARCO, Workday, etc.)
  • Ensure high level of actual data accuracy and reliability for the different axis of analysis (such as customer nature, analytical nature, product, etc.) through execution of review and checks
  • Support country finance team to analyze and identify root cause for inconsistency to ensure high data quality
  • Perform actuals true up data upload and allocations in TM1 according to procedures (ex: Product Contribution)
  • Preparation and run of corporate reports (i.e. personnel costs per function, headcount) for GBUs and support functions reviews
  • Identify actionable insights to improve decision-making across all teams
  • Analyze the allocations result and perform consistency checks to ensure compliance to Group Controlling guideline and Product Contributions matrix, initiate and lead the correction action and liaise with country finance team
  • Participate in daily sales process and provide accurate, timely, and actionable reporting to finance team by comparing simulated vs published net sales data and deep dives when observing abnormal trends
Planning
  • Actively participate in corporate planning including forecasting and budgeting
  • Analyze forecast instructions received from Group Controlling, GBUs / GF, ensure it is well understood by local teams in the region
  • Run all the consolidations activities and checks required for GBUs/GFs validation
  • Ensure adherence of local teams to Universal Calendar
  • Ensure high level of data accuracy and reliability for the different axis of analysis (such as customer nature, analytical nature, market/product indications and managerial view, etc.)
  • Analyze and identify root cause for data anomaly/gaps, ensure corrective actions is properly executed with relevant stakeholders
  • Support countries in the usage of TM1 core model functionalities
  • Build and maintain automated reports and dashboards that are easily shared
  • Provide a first level of analysis and alert countries/region when observing abnormal trends
  • Support forecast / budget set up and preparation activities through Q&A and regular touch point to ensure readiness of planning exercise
  • Oversee data quality checks and lead the corrective action with country finance team to ensure high data integrity in compliance with the Group Controlling guidance
  • Conduct refresh training sessions on Revenue / Cost / HR module / standard reports
  • Conduct regular touch point meeting with country users to support budget/forecast deliverables and act as an expert in the field to address any issues or questions related to process and timelines
Partnering
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with different country CFOs and their teams to become a trusted advisor who highlights risks and spots opportunities
  • Ensure continuous coordination of projects impacting the region
  • Manage related project assessment/preparation and validation in close coordination with other departments
  • Identify and drive operational improvements, creation of ad-hoc reports and dashboards
  • Contribute to business acumen development within the team (business knowledge acquisition, interaction with business partners, etc.)
  • Participate in the workshops coordinated by Global /Other Regional FP&A Services, support project activities including transition, roll-out, execution/implementation, communication, and stakeholder change management
  • Contribute to the communication of the activities to the stakeholders (Processes, RACI, KPIs, issues, etc.)
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert in technical analysis and any specific GBUs/CF knowledge
  • Provide user support in the adoption of new way of working or new processes
Others
  • User Access Management (UAM) support for country users
  • In collaboration with FP&A global services, monitor KPI through One support portal, ensure prompt follow up for all support request raised by country users, reassign tickets to others within the D&SA team when applicable
  • Manage Interns/Graduates/Associates on-boarding, upskilling and allocation of tasks within the team
  • Oversee the completion and ensure high quality of output on allocated tasks perform by Interns/Associates
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or Finance or Engineering required
  • Master\'s in Finance or master\'s in Science or MBA or Master in IT will be considered a differential
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrate an excellent track record in FP&A and reporting functions and systems data flows (preferably in a Pharmaceutical/Consumer Products industry)
  • Deep understanding of controls, master data and systems flows
  • Good knowledge of SAP, TM1 and other systems functional scope
  • Experience translating business needs into process and implementation requirements at Finance system project implementation environment
MAJOR SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Very good knowledge of controlling and reporting processes (end to end view) as well as the main tools being used in the Group (SAP, TM1, etc.)
  • Analytical, process-oriented with a keen interest to drive continuous improvements
