to lead the end-to-end planning, design, and execution of all Civil & Structural (C&S) works in our landmark projects. This role plays a vital part in driving engineering excellence, regulatory compliance, and innovation in sustainable infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Project Planning & Coordination
Lead the development of C&S project plans and ensure seamless integration with overall master schedules.
Collaborate closely with architects, M&E engineers, planners, and contractors to achieve efficient project delivery.
Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to support project viability and land development strategies.
Provide expert input in infrastructure layout and land use planning to optimize design outcomes.
2. Design & Engineering Excellence
Oversee design consultants to ensure compliance with authority requirements (JKR, JPS, Local Authorities, etc.).
Drive value engineering initiatives to achieve optimal cost-performance balance without compromising quality.
Promote sustainable, resilient, and environmentally conscious infrastructure solutions in line with corporate ESG goals.
3. Authority Liaison & Regulatory Compliance
Manage submissions and approvals for all C&S works, including earthworks, drainage, road, and structural plans.
Build strong working relationships with government agencies, local councils, and utility providers to expedite approvals.
Ensure strict adherence to CIDB, BEM, DOSH, and other regulatory and safety standards.
4. Construction Support & Technical Leadership
Provide on-site technical leadership and guidance for smooth C&S implementation.
Resolve design and construction challenges swiftly through proactive coordination with contractors and consultants.
Monitor project progress to ensure design intent and quality standards are maintained at all stages.
5. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
Anticipate potential project risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve technical challenges effectively.
Champion best practices in civil and structural engineering to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Minimum
8-10 years
of experience in civil & structural engineering, with
at least 3 years in a managerial capacity
.
Proven expertise in
design management, authority liaison, and construction coordination
.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Technical Skills
Proficient in
AutoCAD
and project management tools.
Well-versed in local authority guidelines and regulations (
JKR, DOSH, CIDB, BEM, etc.
).
Familiar with sustainable design principles and modern infrastructure technologies.
