The Planning Manager oversees the end-to-end production planning and materials coordination process to ensure smooth, efficient, and on-time delivery for customers in a fast-paced EMS environment. This role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage customer demand changes with agility.
Job Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling
Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer forecasts, priority orders, and manufacturing capacity.
Manage work order releases, WIP aging, and stage aging to ensure smooth flow across SMT, assembly, and testing processes.
Balance manpower, machine capacity, and material readiness to meet plannedoutput targets.
Material Readiness & Inventory Control
Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse teams to secure timely material availability according to the production plan.
Monitor critical materials, lead times, and potential shortages, and initiate recovery or alternative actions when needed.
Optimize inventory levels while preventing excess, slow-moving stock, or obsolescence.
Customer Demand Management
Work closely with program managers and customers to review forecast accuracy, backlog status, delivery commitments, and schedule changes such as pull-ins or push-outs.
Provide reliable delivery date commitments (OTD) and support continuous improvement in delivery performance.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support NPI builds, engineering changes, and product ramp-ups.
Lead daily or weekly planning meetings to address bottlenecks, material issues, and schedule risks.
Data Management & Reporting
Track and report KPIs including OTD, schedule adherence, inventory turns, shortage trends, and capacity utilization.
Use ERP/MRP tools to generate accurate planning data and ensure timely system updates.
Continuous Improvement
Identify gaps in planning and scheduling processes and drive improvements in accuracy, communication, and workflow efficiency.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce cycle time and improve operational productivity.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related fields.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Production Planning within EMS or electronics manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle fast-changing customer demands.

Pay: RM12,000.00 - RM16,000.00 per month
