Plant Projects & PCT Engineer




The Plant Projects & PCT Engineer is responsible for the design, planning, execution, documentation, commissioning and hand-over of his/her specific technical work package in time and in budget. He/She will also support the Site Process team; delivering safe, environmentally sound, productive, and cost effective process technologies; delivering gains in process technology knowledge. Besdies that he/she is also responsible for the technical availability of assigned assets as well as for maintenance/reliability activities, investment planning and execution and ensuring regulatory compliance regarding inspection and obligations in area of responsibility.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all electrical and instrumentation matters regarding plant operability, maintenance / reliability, investments, technology improvements, and technical compliance / integrity.
  • Responsible for digital manufacturing IT projects implementation & maintenance.
  • Detail engineering for one specific discipline or technical work-package from design to hand-over.
  • Design, calculation, specification of all related engineering documents.
  • Has up-to-date knowledge of Bayer Group- and subgroup best practices related to his discipline and implements them in the project.
  • Has up-to-date knowledge about relevant internal and external regulations.
  • Provides key process technology support for the plants on site; identifies, evaluates, and develops process/facility modifications to ensure the proper operation of the plants.
  • Supports start-up of production units; improves process technologies to enable best practices in plant operations and maintenance.
  • Proposes and conducts programs, initiatives, and tools for continuous effectiveness and efficiency improvements under the guidance of the Site Process Technology Manager.
  • Supports the launch of new products and the commissioning of new equipment and/or processes.
  • Provides technical support/expertise to, and often lead initiatives at the intradepartmental and interdepartmental levels.
  • Assures that Process Control Technology (PCT) / Manufacturing System Technology (MST) performance supports plant performance goals related to capacity, operability / availability, economy, compliance, quality, safety, and environment.
  • Has responsibility (technical, budget, timelines, compliance) for the planning and execution of PCT / MST maintenance and investment projects in the Plant.
  • Has up-to-date knowledge about relevant internal and external regulations; Assures compliance with local technical and legal rules and with Company policies in the field of PCT / MST.
  • Has up-to-date knowledge of Bayer Group- and subgroup best practices in the field of PCT / MST and implements them in the Plant.
  • Is responsible for creating preventive maintenance schedules; Reviews and adjusts them based on plant performance, equipment failure history and available best practices.
  • Has responsibility for identifying, evaluating, and developing PCT / MST modifications and improvements in the Plant.
  • Is responsible to troubleshoot PCS/MST problems in the plant, modifies maintenance plans and triggers improvement projects to minimize PCS / MST failures.
  • Is responsible for creating and maintaining Plant technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory requirement. Specifically DOE, DOSH & IEE/NEB regulation
  • Prepare and forecasts the annual budget for maintenance and all CAPEX. Manage the budget from preparation phase to completion of the projects
  • Responsible and accountable for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) & Process & Plant Safety (PPS).

WHO YOU ARE:
  • Possess a Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Engineering or other advanced professional engineering degree in related field.
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in project management
  • Strong technical background including process design and startup
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing or supply chain
  • Experience in managing and developing teams
  • Ability to lead and work cohesively as a team member; interacting and building positive working relationships within the organization and across other functional groups and departments
  • Agility to support changes in a dynamic work environment demonstrating an innovative approach to problem solving
  • Experience in Engineering, Project Management, Process Control/Manufacturing technology.
  • Must have strong knowledge of design requirements for safety instrumented systems, DCS, and state-of-art process control strategies. In addition, should have strong knowledge of industrial computing, digital communications technologies, and cyber security methods.
  • Training in Management System (ISO14001, OHSAS18001)
  • Training in Safety Officer Program
  • Training in Energy Conservation Program
  • Excellent communication skills; customer focus; ability to deal with ambiguity and conflicts
  • Familiar with Requirements Analysis, Design Skills, Project Management, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills, Safety Management, Supervision, CAD.
