Job Purpose
To manage operational tasks and activities and develop P&O processes aligned with global P&O strategy, principles and guidelines to a dedicated client group, supporting the implementation of processes / services /continuous improvement in scope.

Your Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
oConducts periodic payroll reviews on payroll tax and social security for the high priority countries within the organization. Prepares quarterly payroll health check reports for respective countries.
oActively involves in internal and external audits on employment taxes. Updates relevant teams on any legislation changes for income tax and social security. Contributes Organization\'s knowledge management with tax technical trainings, knowledge articles etc. Introduces cost saving opportunities via tax optimization approaches
oCreates payroll tax compliance checklist for a better governance and follows up with country P&O services/Payroll managers on the implementation
oKeeps the global payroll tax grid up to date by visiting any legislation changes around income tax and social security
oReviews and understands the tax positions of globally mobile population and ensures that the correct approaches are followed for the payroll tax/social security reporting for IAs
oEnsures the Global Employment Tax guidelines are followed locally and records the evidence for any exceptional applications
oHelps building connection between Global Mobility, M&A, Reward, Compliance, Finance, Equity, Tax and Payroll teams to ensure up to date knowledge is held within Payroll team on the specific processes. Supports vendor performance reviews based on the determined KPIs, works actively on process improvements with the vendors \\ relevant functions within Novartis

Minimum requirements

What you\'ll bring to the role:

  • Education: Bachelor/ Master degree in Accounting/ Finance Business or related field is preferred (Master degree is preferred)
  • Qualified tax professional in at least one location
  • Languages: English; Other languages desirable
  • Experience and Skills: 5+ years of professional experience in a tax environment, ideally in a multinational Big Four company. Developed skills in stakeholder engagement and coordination. Project lead experience. Developed consulting skills. Good writing and communication skills. Good understanding of rewards practices. Proven analytical and decision-making skills and ability to work with diverse cultures. Strong interest in technology optimization and customer experience Expertise in process design and controls
