Role
The role of a Postgres DBA involves various tasks related to the database\'s installation, configuration, security, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting.
Postgres DBA plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and optimal performance of PostgreSQL database systems in the organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide production support, solutions and expertise for RDBMS.
- Ability to troubleshoot difficult production issues quickly.
- Build and maintain mission critical DB clusters as required.
- Work closely with various development teams across the firm to ensure proper use of DB features, best practices, and adherence to the company\'s database standards.
- Help design, maintain, improve and implement monitoring tools.
- Handle your share of DBA tickets, user requests, routine support and maintenance.
- Research new tools in database ecosystems and adopt.
- 24x7 Production support
- Minimum of 5 years\' DBA experience in Postgres
- Postgres replication setup
- Strong knowledge of Linux and shell scripting language
- In-depth knowledge of database internals and database objects
- Fluent in English
- Open Source Community Contributor
- Pg_pool configuration
- Benchmarking using Pg_bench, HammerDB
- Pacemaker
- Familiar with Azure
- Experience troubleshooting critical issues online
- Working experience on Oracle and/or MySQL/Mariadb
